Hongdae café where a peach soufflé is a solo meal: Think Fruit

In short

Think Fruit is a seasonal fruit soufflé café in Hongdae, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Hongik University Station. On a weekday at 1:30pm the writer walked in alone and ordered the peach soufflé for 22,000 won with an iced Americano for 5,500 won, then spent a full hour finishing the three soufflé pieces, whipped cream, Häagen-Dazs vanilla, Greek momo (peach Greek yogurt) and diced firm peach. Solo it works as a meal in itself; for two or three people the Think Fruit peach soufflé is plenty for brunch or dessert.

I went to a dermatology appointment in Hongdae and finally made time for a soufflé place I'd been wanting to try for weeks! Think Fruit's signature menu is soufflé made with seasonal fruit — right now they're serving the summer peach soufflé and the autumn fig soufflé. If you don't want to miss peach season, go before summer ends! 🍑 🍑 🍑 🍑 🍑

What a weekday 1:30pm walk-in at Think Fruit looks like

Right from the entrance, Think Fruit has a mouthwatering standing sign. There's a Blue Ribbon sticker and one marking them as a Häagen-Dazs retailer.

The place was pretty spacious. I visited around 1:30pm on a weekday and there were plenty of open seats.

Interior of Think Fruit with open seats on a weekday afternoon

I can't speak for weekends, but on weekdays you can comfortably walk in. The interior is clean too, and true to the name Think Fruit, the display case next to the order counter had peaches and figs ripening.

The peaches looked delicious at a glance.

Prices run in the low ₩20,000s for soufflés and ₩5,000–7,000 for drinks. The soufflé is brought straight to your table once it's ready, so let staff know if you want to move seats. There's a ₩2,000 Häagen-Dazs discount event too — don't miss it if you're going!

I ordered the peach soufflé (₩22,000) and an iced Americano (₩5,500).

Peach soufflé for 22,000 won: what comes on the plate

I was told the peach soufflé takes 15–20 minutes to cook, but after one trip to the bathroom, they'd kindly already set it on my table! Since it was a quiet time, it seems to have taken only about 10 minutes.

The visual was incredible — I couldn't help but gasp!!

Three soufflé pieces with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream

It came with three pieces of soufflé that looked perfectly squishy, a generous mound of whipped cream, a scoop of Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream, Greek momo made from white peach, and hard peach cut into bite-size pieces.

Ahh 😂 so pretty. I was amazed at how much peach there was.

As a courtesy to such a pretty dessert, I took plenty of photos before eating! Now let's dig in. I tried the peach first — the hard peach's distinctive sweet-tart flavor was great.

If you're a white peach fan, don't despair! Think Fruit's Greek momo is made with white peach, so sweet juice burst in my mouth with every bite.

When I cut the Greek momo in half, it was packed with nutty Greek yogurt inside. Cutting it open with a knife, the sweet, juicy white peach paired beautifully with the nutty Greek yogurt.

How fluffy is the Think Fruit soufflé?

And the most important part, the soufflé itself, had a subtle egg aroma and was truly soft and fluffy.

A fluffy piece of soufflé lifted on a fork

Can you see how jiggly it is? The texture was so, so good. This fluffiness is exactly why people eat soufflé cake in the first place, right? T_T

It's delicious with the ice cream or the whipped cream, but since the ice cream melts as you eat, pile it on early!

Can you eat the peach soufflé alone? Portion size by headcount

Think Fruit's peach soufflé takes about an hour to finish if you're eating alone. I liked that there was so much whipped cream that I could pair it with even the very last bite of soufflé. I actually went solo and ate it as a meal, and it took a full hour because the portion was genuinely huge. I got pretty full, but I was also kind of happy having all this deliciousness to myself 😍

For a light brunch or dessert, it's plenty even for two or three people to share. I think it'd satisfy both people on a date (pretty + delicious + big portion). And with both hard peach and white peach in the mix, it covers fans of either! ₩22,000 isn't cheap, but given the portion, it felt like great value.

Is Think Fruit worth it? Final verdict

Think Fruit is a soufflé cake specialty shop near Hongik University Station that uses seasonal fruit. They're currently serving the summer peach soufflé and the autumn fig soufflé.

  • The soufflé cake has a light egg aroma, isn't too sweet, and has an excellent fluffy texture the moment it hits your mouth
  • The whipped cream, ice cream, and peach toppings are piled on generously — great to look at and great to eat
  • A dessert café that nails taste, looks, and portion size all at once

I'd definitely recommend it as a Hongdae date spot! Once the strawberry soufflé comes out in winter, I want to go back and try that too 🍓 🍓 🍓
