Going out for meat but ending up busy grilling it yourself is kind of unfair, right? Haha. Between grilling, cutting, flipping the samgyeopsal and keeping up with the side veggies, the person doing the grilling often barely gets to eat.

Samgyeopsal on the grill at Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch

At Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch, which I visited recently, a staff member grills the meat for you, so I just got to focus on eating well haha. And it wasn't just about the meat — there was so much to pair with it that switching up combinations was genuinely fun. If you're looking for a good samgyeopsal spot in Cheonan, check this one out!

Spacious tables inside Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch

The interior was more spacious than I expected. Tables weren't cramped together, and instead of the usual chaotic BBQ-restaurant vibe, it felt clean and well organized! There were also seats for larger groups, so it's a solid option for company dinners or gatherings in Dujeong-dong!

Samgyeopsal grilled for you by the staff

One of the things I really liked about Cham Dwaejitgan was that a staff member grills the meat for you!

A staff member grilling samgyeopsal on the pan

If you just sit and wait, they take care of everything from grilling to cutting the meat into easy-to-eat pieces,

which honestly made things so easy.

The restaurant uses a smoking method with charcoal and Korean rice husks, and the pork is Jirisan black pork and Boseong nokdon pork!

They don't just grill the meat alone on the pan — minari, kimchi, garlic scapes and other sides go on too, so the pan gets fuller and fuller haha.

And once the surface of the samgyeopsal starts turning golden brown, there's no holding back...

Picking up a piece like this, the outside had that perfectly grilled color while the inside still stayed moist.

The self-service side bar and switching up the wrap combos

There's a self-bar too.

I tried the meat on its own, then a bite with a bit of sauce and garlic on top. That was already good...

A perilla leaf wrap with meat and grilled vegetables

But putting the meat on a perilla leaf with grilled veggies and sauce on top gave a completely different feel! At places like this, even with one type of meat, you can keep eating it differently depending on how you combine the sides — I really loved that haha.

A combo of sliced potato, shredded scallions and meat

The combo of thin-grilled potato with shredded scallions and meat piled on top was great too. With vegetables constantly mixed in between the rich, fatty meat, it didn't get overwhelming as fast as I expected.

And the vegetables grilled together on the pan... my chopsticks kept going back for these haha. Once you dip the veggies — golden and soaked in meat fat — in a little sauce and eat them with the meat, you understand why BBQ restaurants bother grilling vegetables so thoroughly.

A large wrap piled high with ingredients

In the end I made a wrap so loaded I wondered if I could even fit it in my mouth haha. But wraps have to be big to be good, right? Haha.

Finishing with kimchi fried rice

Once you've had enough meat, it's time to finish with fried rice!

They fry up the leftover kimchi and vegetables on the pan with rice, perilla leaves, dried seaweed flakes and more — and somehow, this is when your appetite makes a miraculous comeback haha.

Once it's all properly mixed and fried,

it's done! With kimchi and grilled vegetables mixed in, it was the perfect way to finish after all that meat. I'd already claimed to be full, but the moment the fried rice showed up, there I was picking up my spoon again... I guess for Koreans, fried rice really is dessert haha.

Well. I'll let this photo speak for itself haha. From meat to vegetables to wraps to fried rice, I really cleaned my plate.

At the very end, a yogurt drink came out to wrap things up neatly! Even after all that meat and fried rice, apparently there's always room for one more yogurt haha.

At Cham Dwaejitgan, the grilling is handled for you — all you have to do is think about wrap combinations.

Is Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch worth a visit?

At Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch, the meat itself matters, but what really stuck with me was the convenience of staff grilling it for you and the variety of side combinations. No one in the group had to be stuck manning the grill, which made for a relaxed meal, and there was real fun in switching up combinations bite by bite. And given how thoroughly we polished off even the closing fried rice... the empty pan already says how well we ate haha.
