After eating in Dunsan-dong this time, I felt like it'd be a shame to just go home without stopping for coffee somewhere nearby! I'd been curious about the wakppu salt bread, so I headed to Reelbakers, a bakery café in Tanbang-dong. They had a wide variety of breads and even a terrace, so it looked like a great spot to relax with a coffee 🥰

Dog-friendly outdoor terrace

The weather was great that day, so there were a lot of customers out on the terrace seats!

They said the terrace area allows dogs too. But when ordering, you have to leave your dog on the terrace for a moment and go inside to order~

Wakppu salt bread was sold out

Maybe because it was exactly the right time for café-goers, the wakppu salt bread was sold out 😭 I'd come there thinking only of that, so it was such a bummer... Setting my disappointment aside, I decided to pick something else, but there were more bread options than I expected, so I spent a long time deciding what to get 🤣 Still, since I was already a little full, I decided to pick just one!

The bread I picked after much deliberation

Next to the register they were selling Reelbakers' own plates and cups. The design was so clean that using them at home would feel like being at a café every day 😆

How did what I ordered taste?

📝 What I ordered ✔️ Iced Americano ✔️ Reel cream latte ✔️ Cinnamon roll

A cup of the signature Reel cream latte

Reel cream latte

☕ I picked the Reel cream latte thinking I had to try the signature drink. Isn't it gorgeous just from the visual? You're supposed to drink it without stirring to really taste it properly! The soft cream on top blended with the bittersweet coffee underneath and it was delicious!! 🥰

Cinnamon roll

🥐 When I cut the cinnamon roll in half, the layers of pastry were clearly alive and the cinnamon flavor was just the right amount. It tasted even better when I spread a little of the cream on top onto each bite. And when I was finishing my cream latte, dipping the bread into the cream that had settled at the bottom was also a real treat 😆 The bread was so good that it made me curious about how the other breads would taste! I guess it's true that Daejeon is the bread city 🤣 Of all the Daejeon cafés I've been to so far, I don't think I've ever had a disappointing bread.

Overall thoughts on Reelbakers

I went there hoping to try the wakppu salt bread, but unfortunately it was sold out when I visited, so I couldn't taste it 🥲 Still, once I got inside, there was such a wide variety of bakery items, and the coffee and bread were both delicious, so it eased my disappointment a bit 😆 In particular, the Reel cream latte had a nice combination of soft cream and coffee, and the cinnamon roll's pastry layers were alive and tasty too!

On a nice-weather day, it seems like a great spot to relax with a coffee on the outdoor terrace, and I also liked that the terrace is dog-friendly 😊 If I visit again, I definitely want to try the wakppu salt bread next time!! 🤣 If you're looking for a Daejeon bakery café near Tanbang Station where you can enjoy coffee and bakery goods together, Reelbakers is worth a stop 🥐☕️ Next time I'll try to visit a bit earlier so I can try the breads I missed out on one by one 😋
