Songdo bakery with Dubai chocolate baguettes: Tomoru Bakery

In short

Tomoru Bakery is a bakery near Central Park in Yeonsu, Incheon, with breads for meals and snacks. I stopped in with my mom after a walk and spent about 30,000 won on a Dubai chocolate baguette and corn campagne. Verdict: come here for the generously filled chocolate baguette and soft, fluffy breads.

Today, after eating in Songdo and taking a walk with my mom, I opened Supermem and found a bakery where we could just walk in and pick up bread without a reservation—so here’s my Tomoru Bakery review. Supermem is honestly the best for moments like this. 👍🏻🥹

Visit to Tomoru Bakery in Songdo

I’d come here for bread now and then, and this time I saw that Dubai chocolate—maybe a little past its peak trend, but still something I love—had come out as a baguette. Chocolate baguettes are good, Dubai chocolate is good, and they combined them! Including that, I bought about ₩30,000 worth.

The soft corn campagne was delicious too, and I’m going to introduce Tomoru Bakery, with all kinds of old-school neighborhood-bakery-style breads, from meal breads to snack breads!

Tomoru Bakery quietly has quite a few branches—there’s one in Siheung and one in Jakjeon-dong too. You might even have one near your home. This branch is near the Songdo Korea Coast Guard Station, and you can park underground. Maybe because it’s already a well-known bakery among residents of Districts 1 and 2, there were still quite a few customers even after 8 p.m.

Shops around Tomoru Bakery

There are two tables in front of the shop and one inside. Since it isn’t hot right now, it would be nice to have coffee outside too.

They also have healthy bakery items made with powdered rice. Bread made with rice is gluten-free, so it’s much easier on the digestion.

A master baker makes everything here, so places with this plaque are always delicious—like a certified great-bread badge. They have won so many awards for bread that if this bread isn’t good, there’s nowhere left to trust.ㅠㅠ

They make wholesome breads with organic flour, natural starter, AOP-certified butter, antibiotic-free fertilized eggs, and no artificial additives. There are lots of breads made with healthy ingredients that can stand in for a meal.

⏩️⏩️ Here are the bread varieties! There are even cake types that feel like they came from an old-fashioned bakery, plus roll cakes and baked treats, though I only photographed some of them. For the size of the shop, the bread selection is huge.

The red bean buns that adults would love are filled with handmade red bean paste made in-house, while sangtu cookies, rusks, and sweet pumpkin rice bread are for the grandmas. These days, white roll castella and the Dubai chocolate baguette are trendy, so those are for the young crowd!

It was nice that they had trendy white castella and chocolate baguettes too, but unfortunately the white castella was sold out on the day I went.ㅠㅠ So I only bought the chocolate baguette.

How were the Dubai chocolate baguette and corn campagne?

I sliced up the corn campagne and Mont Blanc Dubai chocolate baguette, and these were seriously the best… The chocolate baguette alone is great, but then they top it with kataifi (shredded filo pastry) spread? I simply couldn’t not eat it.

Dubai chewy cookies are so stingy with kataifi, but this one definitely wasn’t—it had a seriously generous amount, which I loved. It tastes exactly as you imagine, with loads of chocolate, so even the baguette on its own is rich. 🥹👍🏻👍🏻

And then there was the corn campagne, which was better than expected. 🌽 It wasn’t dry or dense at all; it was fluffy, almost like a corn-flavored baguette. I don’t know whether each branch sells different items, but I don’t think I saw the cheesy baguette like the six-clove garlic bread I saw in Ilsan last time.

Anyway, this is a famous bakery, so if you’re looking for a bakery around Songdo Central Park, I recommend Tomoru Bakery!
