Hi, this is Uldam! I've been craving KuuKuu Gold so badly lately haha. I recently went out to Bupyeong and found out there's a KuuKuu Gold branch there too — and since September's new menu had just dropped, I figured this was the perfect timing and headed straight over haha.
How is KuuKuu Gold different from a regular KuuKuu?
KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch is a whopping 800 pyeong, so the difference from a regular KuuKuu really hits you. Honestly, before visiting I thought, how different could KuuKuu Gold really be from a regular branch? But wow... the moment I walked in, I realized I was completely wrong.
No exaggeration, it looked like it could fit 300-plus people — incredibly spacious and comfortable! The layout gives you plenty of room to move around, and the overall atmosphere feels upscale, so I was excited the second I stepped in haha.

KuuKuu Gold Bupyeong Branch is open daily 11:00–21:30 (last order 20:30). It had a notice up saying they'd be closed September 25 for Chuseok, so definitely check before you go!
There's underground parking in the building, and you get 1.5 hours free when you dine.

Inside the 800-pyeong dining room and kids' zone
Because the branch is so huge, even when it's packed the tables are spaced generously apart. No matter how crowded it gets, it never feels chaotic or noisy, so it was great for chatting comfortably over the meal!!!
Looking around, there were plenty of families, couples on dates, and lots of middle and high schoolers grabbing a meal after academy (you know who you are...).
And here's the most important point for parents with kids — there's a proper large kids' play room set up on one side of the store, so little ones can play happily while there! Such a smart setup that lets parents eat in peace too.
They've also got large group rooms, making this a perfect spot for a work dinner or a family gathering in Bupyeong, don't you think?
What's on the 200-dish buffet lineup
Living up to the KuuKuu Gold name, they apparently prepare over 200 dishes. Looking at all those options, I genuinely couldn't decide what to eat first haha. Even the buffet layout runs in one long straight line, which makes it really convenient to grab food as you go.
We started off with sushi and seafood first
Then headed to the self-grill zone to grill our own meat, plus mala xiangguo, pizza, pasta and more — really went all in on it 😚 And finished it off with dessert... total demolition mode!

Living up to its reputation as a top sushi spot in Bupyeong, the sushi corner is seriously massive.
Flounder, salmon, tuna, red-fleshed fish sushi, plus tako wasabi, flying fish roe gunkan, and tons of different rolls.
The rice-to-fish ratio isn't too heavy on rice, and the fish is fresh, so I never got tired of eating it no matter how much I had...!!
The seafood corner is also solid — soy-marinated crab, spicy marinated crab, and chewy rice-thief shrimp — so I loaded up my plate from the start haha. Seafood lovers will probably feel they've already gotten their money's worth here (that's me~).
Self-grill zone, hot food and September's new mala xiangguo
After round one of sushi, I headed straight for the grill zone — the heart of KuuKuu Gold is this self-grill zone!!!! It's set up camping-style, where you grill your own meat over an open flame! Grabbing the meat fresh off the fire, the juiciness was seriously unreal...
The hot food zone has an amazing meat lineup — LA-style galbi, chop steak, skewers, lamb chops, dongpo pork, smoked meats, king oyster mushroom grill, and more haha.
There's even an instant noodle corner where you can order udon, jjamppong, cold soba, or rice noodles to taste. One sip of the broth completely cuts through the richness.
One of the new KuuKuu menu items this round, mala xiangguo, was a real gem — just spicy and numbing enough, and paired with pizza and pasta it was absolutely delicious!!
The fresh fruit and salad corner
Once you've had your fill of meat and fried food, it's time to refresh a little, right? Time to hit the salad and fruit!!
The salad options include salmon salad, cheese tandoori salad, crab stick salad, sweet pumpkin salad — the veggies are super fresh and there's a wide range of salads and dressings, so it was easy to find something to my taste.
The fruit corner is packed with gold kiwi, grapefruit, rambutan, pineapple, red dragon fruit, passion fruit — all fresh and sweet. Perfect for a refreshing snack afterward~
Why the chocolate vanilla sorbet is worth saving room for
The dessert lineup at the end was genuinely huge! Even when I was full, the desserts kept pulling me back in... sigh, this is how I turn into a pig. Egg tarts, mini choux, mini donuts coated in chocolate, blueberry tarts, various cakes, puddings, jellies — the dessert variety was massive.
There's also a make-your-own waffle station and a patbingsu (red bean shaved ice) corner. Slushies in different flavors too.
But here's the real standout!!! The ice cream lineup... From lemon, melon, and strawberry sorbet to our own vanilla, granola misugaru, choco bomb ice cream, and even colorful bead ice cream! They really have everything, haha. KuuKuu really has it all except the things it doesn't have...
Personally, the choco vanilla sorbet was genuinely delicious. The chocolate is just bitter enough while still sweet, and the combo with vanilla is amazing, so you have to try it. Strongly, strongly recommend the choco vanilla sorbet!
