Charcoal galbi with kids in Gimpo: half beef half pork, Galbigumteo
In short
Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch is a charcoal-grilled marinated rib restaurant at Pungmu intersection in Pungmu-dong, Gimpo. Because the daughter wanted beef and the son wanted pork, the family ordered half and half — garlic-marinated beef ribs (180g, 22,900 won) and handmade Korean pork king ribs (300g, 19,900 won) — grilled at the table by staff, with self-bar buchimgae (savory pancake) and nurungji sungnyung (scorched rice tea) on the side. Both cuts were good enough that Galbigumteo is now a family dinner regular, with a full 800g plate of beef rib meat planned for next time.

Family dinner out for ribs after a while — let's go! Charcoal-grilled marinated ribs are the kind of thing moms, dads, and kids all love without complaint. ^ㅡ^ I heard there's a rib place in Pungmu-dong, Gimpo that ages Korean pork ribs for 72 hours, so I went to check it out. Here's my review of Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch, a local favorite in Pungmu-dong :)

Where Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch is, and its opening hours
Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch is located at 133 Pungmu-ro, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do (Pungmu-dong 56-1), across the street from the Gimpo CGV building (Wellaum). It's right next to the Starbucks at Pungmu intersection!
Galbigumteo 133 Pungmu-ro, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do (Pungmu-dong 56-1) Hours: Mon–Fri 11:30am–10pm / Sat–Sun 10am–10pm ✔️ Naver Reservation available

There's parking space right in front of the restaurant,

and there's also a dedicated lot behind the building ^^ Parking is easy here, which is a nice plus for Galbigumteo Pungmu branch!

Inside Galbigumteo: can it handle a big group dinner?
The interior of Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch has solid ventilation, and there's a spacious area further inside that looks great for group dinners ^^

Beef ribs or pork ribs? The family ordered half and half
Galbigumteo has both pork ribs and beef ribs, so I really had to think about what to order haha. I asked the kids what they wanted — my daughter said beef ribs, my son said pork ribs — so we ended up ordering both ㅎㅎ And by the way, the handmade Korean pork king ribs are ₩19,900 for 300g, which is really great value!!

Ordering was easy with the tabletop ordering system.

Side dishes and the self-bar: pancake and scorched rice tea
The side dish setup ~ shredded onion with sauce, crunchy pepper muchim, aged kimchi, green onion kimchi, doraji (bellflower root) muchim, and more — plenty of variety to go with the meat ^^
The perilla leaves and lettuce looked super fresh too ^^
If you run low on any side dish, you can use the self-bar, and if the wrap greens you want aren't there, just ask the staff.

There's even a self-serve pancake station at Galbigumteo's self corner!

Oil the pan, pour in a ladle of batter, and cook it up nicely yourself ^^ It's nice to snack on a warm pancake as an appetizer while the meat is cooking ^^

There's also nurungji sungnyung (scorched rice tea) at the self-bar, so a warm bowl of that was great too haha
Charcoal-grilled Korean pork king ribs, 300g for 19,900 won
The charcoal comes out,

half beef ribs, half pork ribs — and of course that's not all, adding more meat is basically a given haha We decided to try both first and then add more of whichever tasted better ~^^

The staff suggested grilling the pork ribs first, so we tried those first ^^
The staff kindly placed, flipped, cut, and grilled the meat for us ^^ (though during busy hours they might not be able to grill for you ^^;;)
Big, hearty pork king ribs filling up the whole grill! ^^
Cut into easy bite-sized pieces

The meat cooking away deliciously!

Move it to the edge (haha) so it doesn't burn, and let's dig in ^^

Wrapped in lettuce, wrapped in perilla leaves — meat wrapped in greens, tasty and healthy! ^^

The pork ribs were so good, they added more right away so the meat supply never ran out haha
Free doenjang jjigae and rice made with Gimpo Geumssal
Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) comes as a free side ^^

The doenjang jjigae was rich and delicious, and by the way, Galbigumteo doesn't just serve plain rice — it's made with Gimpo Geumssal rice, so it's really tasty ^^
How were the garlic-marinated beef ribs, 180g for 22,900 won?

Now let's try the beef ribs too ^^
These marinated ribs are made with garlic, no holding back, so they had to be extra delicious! ^^

In the end, the beef rib meat was so good that next time I'm thinking we should get a full plate (800g) and really go for it! haha Both the pork ribs and the beef ribs were delicious at Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch! Both were so good that honestly we should just come separately multiple times — one visit for pork, one for beef haha Highly recommend this as a go-to rib restaurant in Pungmu-dong, Gimpo!! ^^
