On a Friday night, wanting to catch up with friends over good charcoal-grilled meat and a drink, I visited Golmokjip Galbisal in Yeonsinnae as a sponsored guest.

As soon as I walked in, the cute yet distinctive retro interior caught my eye. Thanks to that retro atmosphere and the moody lighting, it was the perfect spot to enjoy a cheerful Friday night with friends after work. 🥩✨

Once we sat down and checked the menu, I noticed the plain and marinated galbisal (beef rib meat) were the same price, so it was easy to pick whichever we preferred. The basic side dishes that came out with the meat kept getting picked at, too — the neatly plated scallion salad and pickled onions cut right through the richness of the meat, so we could keep eating cleanly all the way through without getting tired of it.

Dipping a piece of the beef into the sweet-spicy house sauce was especially perfect for my taste. The charcoal fire was strong enough that the meat cooked quickly while trapping in the juices, coming out golden-brown outside and juicy inside.

Enjoying delicious meat and a generous spread in that pretty retro atmosphere really made me feel like I'd found a proper Yeonsinnae meat restaurant.

Since we wanted to try a good variety of cuts, we asked for the signature 'Golmokjip Combo' (beef galbisal 200g + teukmoksal 300g).

As soon as we ordered, the staff kindly welcomed us and set the table — the basic side dishes came out so generous and neatly arranged that we were already in a good mood before the meat even arrived.

Soon after, glowing charcoal arrived along with the bright red galbisal and thick-cut teukmoksal. We started with the galbisal, laying it on the charcoal grill first.

As the savory juices rose up, the first bite delivered both a satisfying chew and tenderness at the same time.

The teukmoksal we grilled next was juicy and clean-tasting with no dryness at all, and all my friends devoured it, marveling the whole time. The combination of meat and side dishes was so good that the drinks kept flowing. 😋🔥
