Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch is a tonkatsu restaurant on the 1st floor of 4-1 Yeonseo-ro 28-gil, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. I'd heard it was a good spot for solo dining in Yeonsinnae, so I went to check it out — and it was so good I have to recommend it :)

There are so many good restaurants along this stretch~ It's right next to Yukhoe Baleun Yeoneo Yeonsinnae Branch, and since they do delivery, takeout, and dine-in, there's a steady stream of both delivery riders and customers.

Food in 10 minutes: why Katsu Monster works on a short lunch break

Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch has an open kitchen, so you can watch your food being cooked cleanly and carefully — I really loved that ^^

The food also came out just 10 minutes after ordering, faster than I expected! Sometimes my lunch break is tight and I need to eat fast and get back, and Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch was great for that — the owner and staff were friendly, and service was speedy too. If you're in a hurry, you can even call ahead to order haha.

Honestly, when people say 'Yeonsinnae restaurant,' it's almost always a drinking spot, so it was hard to find a proper lunch place in Yeonsinnae — so having somewhere I can comfortably eat alone is the best~~ You can order at the kiosk, and there's a review event you can join for extra perks.

Is the cheese katsu at Katsu Monster really the best?

I really love cheese katsu normally, and the cheese katsu at Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch is hands down the best cheese katsu I've had so far..! The cheese is so soft, warm, and nutty that I kept reaching for more.

Sometimes when I eat alone, I feel self-conscious or pressured to eat quickly and leave, so I'd often just grab fast food or settle for some chain restaurant — but Katsu Monster Yeonsinnae Branch, good good!

Self-serve sauce corner: good news for sauce lovers

I also liked that the salad sauce and tonkatsu sauce are set up so you can use them freely on your own. I'm normally a sauce person, and I always feel bad asking for more, so being able to help myself at the table was great~~!

Thick-cut tonkatsu and ordering takeout at Katsu Monster

Can you see how thick the pork cutlet is? It's juicy and the meat juices just burst out — honestly the best tonkatsu I've had in a while!

A lot of people living nearby come in for takeout — you just pay easily at the kiosk, pick it up, and enjoy it warm at home!

The soup, kimchi, and pickled radish that come with it all pair well with the tonkatsu — passed with flying colors~~!

The bite-size curry katsu isn't a huge portion, but the flavor is rich, so dipping the cutlet in it or mixing it with rice is the best.
