At Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch in Buk, Daegu, I had half portions of outside skirt and flower rib meat, along with the 9dan set. The two cuts had different textures, making them enjoyable to compare, and the sides and stew made for a filling meal.

Where is the restaurant, and is parking available?
The restaurant is on the second floor of the building at 197 Chimsannam-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu. Its large roadside sign made it easy to find, and I parked conveniently in the customer-only lot on the first floor. The stairs up were wide, and the entrance was neatly maintained.

The original post lists the hours as 11:00–21:50, with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00 and last orders at 21:00.
Is it suitable for children or group meals?
The interior was more spacious than I expected. Warm-toned wooden tables and partitions between seats gave each table a reasonably separate feel. There was also plenty of space between tables, so it seemed well suited to family meals, gatherings with friends, or company dinners.
There was also a children’s play area. With its dedicated parking and spacious seating, it is worth considering for a family meal with children.

What did I order, and what were the side dishes like?
On one side of the restaurant, I could see staff trimming meat by hand. Seeing it prepared for orders gave me the impression that care went into the meat preparation.

Each table had a tablet, so we could take our time looking through the menu and ordering. We chose half portions of outside skirt and flower rib meat, along with the 9dan set.

The table was set with salad, jjolmyeon (chewy spicy noodles), kimchi, pickled vegetables, and more. The side dishes were neatly presented, and they were not overly strong for my taste, so they paired well with the meat.

The jjolmyeon in particular had springy noodles and a sweet-tangy sauce, making it a good accompaniment between bites of meat.
How did the outside skirt and flower rib meat differ in taste and texture?
The beef arrived on a wooden tray. Its red color and marbling stood out, and when I grilled the outside skirt, it was savory on the outside and moist within.

The outside skirt was tender to chew yet resilient, with a deep beef aroma that became more pronounced as I chewed. It was good with a light dip in salt, while a little fresh wasabi gave its savory flavor a clean finish.

The flower rib meat stood out for its tender texture and abundant juices. Alternating between the outside skirt’s deep beefiness and chewiness and the flower rib meat’s tenderness made ordering both cuts satisfying.

What comes with the 9dan set, and how did I pair it?
The 9dan set is introduced as including yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), jjolmyeon, fresh-wasabi sushi, and pork kimchi stew. Placing beef over rice with a little fresh wasabi added a sharp aroma to the savory meat juices. With jjolmyeon, its sweet-tangy sauce freshened the rich flavor of the meat.

The pork kimchi stew arrived simmering, bringing together the spicy flavor of well-fermented kimchi and the savory flavor of pork. Finishing the beef with warm broth felt satisfying. It was a good combination when I wanted to try a range of sides as well as the meat.
