Anseong Chinese restaurant with no-broth thick tantanmen: Chibao
In short
Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch is a food-court Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Starfield Anseong in Anseong, Gyeonggi. Two people had lunch for 31,800 won in total — the tantanmen set with mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) at 19,900 won and the seafood-loaded jjamppong at 11,900 won — and Chibao's tantanmen came as a thick, sauce-coated stir-fried noodle rather than a soup noodle. Chibao's tantanmen is a good pick for anyone who likes thick mixed noodles, but a letdown if you came for a broth-heavy jjamppong.

I thought I'd ordered a soup noodle, but the sauce clung right to my chopsticks. I had no idea tantanmen could be this thick and saucy.
We went to check out the Teslas and decided to grab a simple Chinese lunch at Starfield Anseong.

If you're searching for jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) at Starfield Anseong, want to hear about our visit to Chibao?

We finished lunch for two with the tantanmen set at 19,900 won and the seafood-loaded jjamppong at 11,900 won — 31,800 won total!

Tantanmen was thick and rich, jjamppong was sharp and spicy. They're so different in character that sharing was actually really fun.
Where is Chibao Starfield Anseong Branch?
Chibao is over near the dining zone on the 2nd floor of Starfield Anseong. The address is 2F, Unit 2318, Starfield Anseong, 3930-39 Seodong-daero, Gongdo-eup, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. 📍
It's not a restaurant with its own door — it's an open food-court stall, so you just walk right up and order.

If you get hungry while shopping, you just head up to the 2nd floor — the flow was really convenient.

Do you need a parking ticket at Starfield Anseong?
We used the regular Starfield parking lot as-is — no need to get a parking ticket or validate anything at Chibao.

No hunting around for a parking stamp after the meal — this part was definitely convenient!

Chibao seating: shared food-court tables
Chibao's seats aren't a standalone restaurant setup — they're shared seating like a food court.

You order first and then sit wherever's free, which makes it perfect for a quick bite while shopping.
Chibao menu and prices: the set gets you noodles plus tangsuyuk
On Chibao's menu, the original tantanmen and the seafood-loaded jjamppong are each 11,900 won.

Add mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) to that and you get the tantanmen set for 19,900 won.

You can choose original or chili tangsuyuk — we went with original.
What two of us ordered at Chibao

Starting with the tantanmen set. The first chopstick lift didn't bring up soup — it brought up sauce wrapped thickly around the noodles.
The peanut sauce clumped thick and rich onto the noodles, and a nutty aroma hit first.

Next, the seafood-loaded jjamppong. One spoonful of the broth and the chili oil hit sharp and spicy right away. 🔥

It's not fire-noodle level spicy, more of a hearty, sharp spice, so I kept eating without reaching for water.
A close look at the mini tangsuyuk and the jjamppong seafood
Chibao's mini tangsuyuk comes bumeok-style — sauce already poured on from the start.

Taking a bite, it leaned more chewy than crispy, with a familiar sweet-and-savory flavor built on soy sauce.

The mussels in the jjamppong seafood come shelled — just the meat. Grabbing them straight with chopsticks meant no messy hands!

The dish return counter is set up on the opposite side from the ordering counter.

Chibao tantanmen is a thick stir-fried noodle, not a soup noodle
Lifting the noodles with chopsticks, the sauce doesn't drip down — it clings thick and tight to the noodles. One bite and the peanut's nuttiness spreads heavy, followed by savory saltiness and a subtle sweetness.

The more you chew, the more richly the sauce wraps around the noodles, feeling far denser and thicker than a soup-style tantanmen. Honestly, when I think tantanmen, I picture a thick broth first. This is closer to a stir-fried noodle in thickness, not a soup noodle.

If you're expecting a brothy tantanmen it might feel different, but if you love thick bibim-style noodles, this place's tantanmen will be right up your alley.
The downside: what to know if you want broth
Chibao's seafood-loaded jjamppong had less broth than expected. (ㅠ_ㅠ) It's noodle- and seafood-focused, so if you like generously spooning up broth, it might feel a bit lacking.
If you're a soup person like me, asking for extra broth when ordering might be worth a try.
One more thing! I called the phone number listed on Naver myself, and it came back as a disconnected number. If you want to call ahead, check first that it actually connects.
Which of the three dishes was best?
Of the three things we ate at Chibao, the tantanmen was easily the most memorable. I expected a soup noodle and my eyes went wide the moment I tasted this thick stir-fried style instead.
- Tantanmen: peanut sauce clinging thick to stir-fried noodles, the clear winner of the day
- Seafood-loaded jjamppong: sharp and refreshing, didn't overlap with the nutty tantanmen, glad we ordered both
- Mini tangsuyuk: if you prefer chewy bumeok-style over crispy dip-style, this suits you well
If you're shopping at Starfield and want an easy Chinese meal, the Chibao tantanmen set combo is worth trying.
