I was at Starfield Anseong and when lunchtime hit, I suddenly wanted jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) so bad lol. Debated what to eat, ended up craving Chinese food, so off to Chibao I went

I was a little hesitant about eating alone, but it turned out to be more comfortable than expected — and honestly, the beef jjamppong I had that day was pretty delicious, so I left satisfied.

A solo lunch order at Chibao: beef jjamppong and jumbo dumplings

Starfield Anseong has so many restaurants that it's hard to decide what to eat, but that day I was just craving jjamppong, so I went straight for Chinese food haha. What I ordered: beef jjamppong + wang-gyoza (jumbo fried dumplings)!

How spicy is Chibao's beef jjamppong broth?

First off, the beef jjamppong looked pretty appetizing right away. Having beef in the jjamppong broth gave it a completely different feel from the usual seafood jjamppong. The broth was spicy with that deep, rich jjamppong flavor, making it perfect for lunch. I usually pay a lot of attention to the broth when I eat jjamppong, and that day I kept spooning it up over and over lol

The visuals were seriously wild. Having beef in there made the texture great when eaten together with the noodles. Put a piece of beef on the jjamppong noodles, take a spoonful of broth — the perfect combo!

The tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) was seriously — packed with meat. I think this place is really serious about their meat…

But honestly, what was truly delicious that day was the wang-gyoza lol. The outside was fried nice and crispy, so the first bite gave that proper crunch. I love dumplings, so I usually order fried dumplings or gyoza whenever I go to a Chinese restaurant, and that day, eating them together with the jjamppong made them go even better together.

A sip of jjamppong broth followed by a bite of crispy wang-gyoza — the combo was genuinely great. Crispy outside, moist inside — a flavor that just kept my hand reaching for more lol

What eating alone at Chibao means for your order

One thing I regretted about eating solo that day was not being able to order many menu items. Next time, if I come with a group, I'd love to order jjajang or other Chinese dishes to share.

Especially if you're shopping inside Starfield and looking for a place to eat, the location is convenient, so it could be a good reference for anyone looking for a lunch spot at Starfield Anseong. Even for someone like me who ended up eating alone after shopping solo, it wasn't uncomfortable at all haha.

Personally, the beef jjamppong I had that day was delicious, but the crispy wang-gyoza is the one that quietly stuck with me lol. Next time I want to come with someone instead of alone and order a bunch of things to try. That day, I just really, really knew exactly what I wanted to eat.
