This is Osteria Ottivo, a restaurant I visited in Bangbae-dong for a good-atmosphere brunch with tasty pasta and pizza. Everything we ordered that day — the pasta, the pizza, even the fries — was delicious, which made this a satisfying Italian restaurant find in Bangbae. Free parking for 3 hours is available too, so it's an easy spot to visit by car for brunch in Bangbae. (Valet is paid, ₩3,000.)

Osteria Ottivo sits on the first floor of a building near Daelim Acro River in Bangbae-dong. Visiting right at weekend opening time meant we could enjoy a more relaxed brunch.

Walking into this Bangbae-dong restaurant, you're greeted by a spacious, good-atmosphere space. The tables are spread out comfortably and the light is great, making for a pleasant interior.

In the middle of the space there's a kitchen and coffee bar, and there's also a spacious table area toward the back. Since Osteria Ottivo is also a good spot for group gatherings in Bangbae, you can see a reserved table set for 10 people.

Each table has a Toss QR code, so you can order easily from your phone. That day, the two of us ordered a pepperoni pizza (₩21,000), a spicy amatriciana pasta (₩21,000), French fries (₩7,500), and a Zero Coke (₩4,000).

From Tuesday to Sunday, there's a rotating 50% discount on select pizzas by day of the week, so it might be worth timing your pizza order to whatever day you visit for better value. They also had ice cream on offer for a nice dessert.

Spicy amatriciana and truffle French fries at Osteria Ottivo

The spicy amatriciana pasta came out first, and with its tomato base and a slight kick of spice, even I — someone who usually gets sick of rich, heavy food — could enjoy it easily. The sauce had cherry tomatoes, garlic, and bacon mixed in, so you could eat those together with the pasta.

The French fries, made even better with a subtle truffle flavor from truffle oil, were a great side too, so I'd recommend ordering two mains like pizza and pasta together with an order of fries.

Along with the Zero Coke, they brought us a cup of ice, and pickles came out without us even asking. They kept a small flame lit under the pizza the whole time we ate so it stayed warm, and it was piled high with spicy pepperoni. I liked that the pepperoni pieces themselves weren't too large, and the pizza was, as expected, delicious.
