Went for a delicious lunch brunch with a friend in hot Seongsu. I loved Omil so much last time that I came back to the Seongsu branch again! (Seriously a honey spot.)
Where is Omil Seongsu? 8 minutes from Seongsu Station Exit 1
Omil Seongsu is in an alley about 8 minutes on foot from Exit 1 of Seongsu Station. The vibe is so good — that hip Seongsu-dong feeling.
Oh! Meal! Cute name, cute character too. We met early in the morning and did an opening rush around 11:30am. Lunchtime is famously packed with customers, so...
Inside Omil Seongsu: seating and why it works with kids
The vibe at Omil Seongsu is genuinely great. Stylish, cute, pretty — interior that fits a popular Seongsu-dong restaurant. There were various seat types too, tables for 2 and for 4. There were also seats set a bit further inside, so it felt private.
There's sofa seating too, so it's very comfortable — a good atmosphere to bring babies and kids. It's a kid-friendly restaurant. They have aprons, and you can grab water and pickles yourself.
All the little interior props are so cute that any woman would probably love this restaurant. I'd recommend it as a Seongsu-dong date course.
Light streams in nicely by the window, and the little props make it feel cute. It has a café-like feel too, so it's good for chatting over a meal.
The menu and what comes in the 2-person set
Once we sat down, a staff member brought the menu, and pressing the bell got someone over right away to take our order. Very kind. The 2-person set was reasonably priced, so we ordered the set! You can pick 2 mains, 1 side, and 2 drinks.

The drinks came out first — Pepsi Zero. (At least let the drink be zero-sugar... diet starts tomorrow.)
Omil Sobayaki: Japanese-style maki with buckwheat soba and rolled egg
Then out came the Omil Sobayaki right away. It's a Japanese-style maki roll with buckwheat soba noodles and rolled egg inside. Eat it with wasabi and pickled ginger. Oh, it's like Japanese fusion food.
The rolled egg's little face was so cute I had to snap a photo. It made me happy the whole time I was eating, honestly.
How does the signature gochujang butter pasta taste?
Oh! Then came the signature dish, the gochujang butter pasta. I had it last time too and it was so, so good that I ordered it again. That thick, rosé-like feel with a spicy kick is top-tier. Honestly the best pasta I've had recently.
Looks pretty, tastes incredible. The sirloin on top of the pasta is so tender and delicious too. Mix the gochujang butter on top well with the sauce underneath before eating. The plating is so pretty too.
Mix it well like this, twirl it up, and it's pure honey. I really do love Omil Seongsu. Truly.
The overall atmosphere is great and the food is excellent too. As lunchtime approached, seats gradually ran out. This is a Seongsu spot with a waitlist.
Chirp Chirp Chirp! Rubber Duck Omurice, the dish kids go for
Aaah... and then out came the Chirp Chirp Chirp! Rubber Duck Omurice. Six cute quail-egg ducks on an island of egg! Truly a look kids will love. The rubber duck and tube that came with it were a gift. (Kids would really love this!)
The little umbrella is cute, and the ducks with corn-kernel mouths are cute too. Just looking at the food happily is a kind of happiness. Omil really does plate food so prettily. (But it's just as deep and delicious as it looks, that's the thing.)

If you're looking for a truly delicious pasta spot in Seongsu, I'd recommend Omil Seongsu without hesitation. Great for eating good fusion Western food in a nice atmosphere with kids, as a couple, with friends, or with coworkers. (Weekends especially can get a wait, so booking on Catchtable or joining the waitlist is a good idea.)
