Yeongtong salmon steak sushi off the belt, 13 plates: Teukbyeolhan

Haha you guys, last Monday I went to work and the second I got there I was so sleepy and desperate to go home...?? So I left work early and went straight to a conveyor-belt sushi place and demolished 13 plates of sushi, and honestly it made me so happy 🥹

Let me share my review of Teukbyeolhan Chobap (특별한 초밥), a Yeongtong spot I really enjoyed eating at!

Teukbyeolhan Chobap opening hours and last order

Teukbyeolhan Chobap is open Monday through Sunday from 11:30 to 22:00, with a break time from 15:00 to 17:00. Last order is at 9:30pm, so it's nice that you can drop by even later in the evening.

On weekends or during the lunch peak, you can reserve via Catch Table using the pad outside the shop.

How to get to Teukbyeolhan Chobap from Yeongtong Station, plus parking

Yeongtong favorite Teukbyeolhan Chobap is on the 2nd floor of the Classia Yeongtong officetel building. It's the building right next to the Lotteria, so it wasn't hard to find 😁

🅿️ Parking info 🅿️ Free parking is available in the same building's basement lot. When I told the staff, they gave me a parking ticket.

What the L-shaped counter is like for solo diners

Walking inside, there was an L-shaped conveyor-belt sushi counter, with table seating by the window and further inside.

Behind the tables, staff were making sushi fresh on the spot ☁️ Having counter seating made it great for solo dining, and the turnover was fast. The guy sitting next to me finished more than 10 plates in about 15 minutes — impressive, honestly.

There was a hanger for coats and even a baby chair. By the window and further in, there were 3–4 table seats that could fit up to four people.

This is the seat I sat at 🍀 Each seat had a partition, so I could comfortably use my own space. There was also a basket under the chair for my bag, which was handy!

You grab the sushi plates off the conveyor belt yourself as you eat, and once you're done, staff count the plates and calculate the bill.

If a sushi isn't on the belt, you just ask and they'll make it fresh right away. All the staff were so friendly that I didn't feel awkward asking 😂😂 (something that matters a lot for shy people like me lol)

Sushi selection and price: every plate 1,890 won

Teukbyeolhan Chobap's conveyor-belt menu was divided up like this:

• Fish & sashimi: flounder, flounder fin, tuna, sea bream, beef tartare, etc.
• Steak-style: beef tartare tataki, scallop, raw shrimp, egg-shrimp-cheese, tuna, freshwater eel, egg, whelk, etc.
• Seafood: raw shrimp, seasoned shrimp, soy-marinated shrimp, vinegared shrimp, etc.
• Rolls & gunkan: flying fish roe, taco wasabi, volcano tuna roll, etc.

There were about 40 orderable types of sushi, plus dessert options like fruit and cake. Every plate was a flat rate of ₩1,890, so the price never felt like a burden.

The rice dish menu was also super affordable!

The 13 plates of sushi eaten solo

Each seat had soy sauce and pickled radish, and wasabi and fish broth soup were brought fresh.

First thing I ate was the salmon sushi. The color was gorgeous haha. Dipped in soy sauce, it just melted — basically cotton candy.

The salmon-onion sushi came with a generous sauce on top, so it ate almost like a proper dish. Both the salmon and the onion were fresh through and through. The onion wasn't spicy at all, just crisp 🥹

I ate the eel sushi three times. The eel was substantial and the combo of sweet eel sauce and mayo sauce was so good I kept grabbing it whenever it rolled past on the belt haha.

Had another round of fresh salmon sushi too~

Egg-cheese-shrimp steak sushi. True to its long name (lol), it was packed with tasty stuff, so of course it was delicious — the shrimp was plump and the egg was soft haha.

Beef tartare tataki sushi. I thought it was just going to be a plain meat sushi, but it turned out to be beef tartare torched only on the outside. One bite in, the red tartare inside showed up — not fishy at all, super fresh, and best of all, they piled it on generously ><

The cheese roll turned out to be a California roll style with crab stick inside, topped with egg, so it had all kinds of textures going on. Total rice-thief... ✨

Had some pineapple as a palate cleanser in the middle~

How to order sushi that isn't on the belt

I saw another customer order something that wasn't on the belt and went, huh...? Can I do that too...?? and started flipping through the menu

Salmon steak sushi!! I debated between this and the salmon fire-chicken steak but went with this one — so good. The raw salmon was torched, which brought out even more of its nutty richness.

And this one was the egg steak. Soft egg sushi topped with a fluffy mousse and garlic flakes, then torched — sweet, and totally my style haha.

Had eel again as my last sushi~

Finished with a refreshing orange for dessert~ The orange was supposed to be on the belt but wasn't there when I looked, so I asked the staff separately!

Before I even said anything, I just kept staring at it, and the staff asked if I wanted to order it right away, so I didn't feel awkward at all lol

Is Teukbyeolhan Chobap in Yeongtong worth it? 13-plate verdict

And that's how I finished off 13 plates solo. There were a lot of other solo diners like me, plus plenty of people out with friends or on dates.

Each plate was ₩1,890, and for the price, the quality and taste were great, so I think I'll be back often! If you're looking for a good, tasty spot in Yeongtong with a nice atmosphere, give this place a try 😄
