Seoul Station Japanese restaurant for gyukatsu with mini curry
In short
Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is a gyukatsu and steak set restaurant in the basement of the LG Building near Seoul Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Sirloin gyukatsu is grilled piece by piece over a tiny tabletop brazier, served with towering rice, pickled cabbage, and an optional mini curry on the side. Neat, photogenic plating makes it a solid Seoul Station date spot.

I went to Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch, a restaurant I'd recommend for a Seoul Station date course.

In the LG Building basement — the interior and how to find it

Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is located in the basement of the LG Building, so it's a popular spot with office workers during lunch! You go down the basement stairs near the main entrance of the LG Building and walk in a bit further.

During weekday lunch there really were a ton of office workers! Since gyukatsu (breaded and fried beef cutlet) is kind of a fancier dish (?), I noticed some people who seemed to be meeting outside guests here too haha😆

Menu lineup — gyukatsu and steki sets, regular and jumbo

At Ichigyu, gyukatsu and steki (steak) sets are the mains. Gyukatsu comes in regular and jumbo (double) sizes, split up for those who want more meat. The steki sets also have regular and jumbo sizes, so order according to your appetite! There's also steak don, hot-plate chop steak, and other dishes, plus a seasonal cold soba.

Each table has a hot plate set up so you can grill the gyukatsu piece by piece, and the little brazier was so cute.

Sides you can grab through the review event
They give out shrimp tempura for a receipt review — how could you not do it! Grab your receipt from the staff ahead of time, write your review, and get yourself some tasty shrimp tempura too~

There's another review event you can stack with the shrimp tempura one — apparently they give out grilled cheese and mochi rice cake! With such a generous review event going on, you should definitely join in and grab the tasty sides too~

The set comes out neatly arranged on a single tray, so keep in mind this is a restaurant that's a perfect fit for a Seoul Station date course!
Towering rice and the basic side dishes

I ordered gyukatsu, so let me first show you the rice and side dishes that come with it! First off, the rice portion was enormous — what they call a
