Where is Jansang, the Korean gastropub on Deokcheon's main strip?

Jansang is a newly opened Korean gastropub at 44-1, 1st floor, Deokcheon2-gil, Buk-gu, Busan, right on the main Deokcheon bar strip. It's roughly across from Halmaek, so anyone who knows Deokcheon will know exactly where it is..!

A new Korean gastropub had opened in Deokcheon, so of course I had to check it out — this is my visit to Jansang! It was easy to find, and the free soft-serve ice cream was such a surprise ☺️ Bars usually charge you for ice cream, right,,

True to its title as a Korean gastropub, the menu had dishes and an unusual lineup you don't often see ☺️ Since it was our first stop of the night I was a bit hungry and wanted some carbs, and there was jjagyechi right there — impossible not to order it. And my beloved pork jowl braise ..😘 There was a time I was obsessed with pork jowl,, a phase where I ordered jowl braise no matter which bar I went to..

Guest appearance: my friend's cute fingers, right guys? Leave nice comments lol. The entrance seats have that pojangmacha (street tent bar) vibe! Not literally open-air, but plenty comfortable for a good meal,,☺️

There are plenty of Korean gastropubs in Deokcheon, but none with quite this mood, which is partly why I wanted to check it out. If you like that pojangmacha atmosphere, Jansang in Deokcheon is a solid choice! We went early and were the first customers, but a few groups came in right after we ordered, so it must be popular,, I thought

There's also a room inside with around eight four-person tables, so it's roomy enough for bigger groups! The inside is quiet with decent lighting too, so if the outdoor seats are full, I'd highly recommend the inner room ☺️ Personally, I really liked the lighting at this Deokcheon Korean gastropub! The inner mood was nicer than expected, making it a good spot for a date too.

The free starter at Jansang: honey kkwabaegi

The basic side dish at Jansang, a Korean gastropub in Deokcheon! A place that gives you honey kkwabaegi (twisted honey doughnuts) as a free side is just the best !!!! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ The banchan (side dishes) were proper banchan too, which suited the Korean gastropub concept well 😎

Pomegranate highball, 8,000 won — how strong is it?

Cheers,, zero-sugar cola and a pomegranate highball — the pomegranate highball was really strong, the kind of drink you can nurse for a long time as the ice slowly melts. The alcohol was on the lighter side, so it was easy to drink without getting too tipsy. There were about 4-5 highballs on the menu, so you can pick and choose 😉

Jjagyechi, 8,000 won — with pork and green onion kimchi

Jjagyechi >_<!!! Jjapaghetti (black bean noodles) topped generously with egg yolk and cheese, and it even comes with meat mixed in...! Plus pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi) on the side — jjapaghetti with pa-kimchi is an unbeatable combo. I'm a big fan of jjapaghetti, so getting such a hearty version of jjagyechi made me happy. Really solid quality 👍

Soy-braised pork jowl, 26,000 won — how big is the portion?

And finally, the pork jowl braise..! What really surprised me was that jowl braise is basically incapable of tasting bad, but on top of that the portion was massive — so good 😊 The soy-braised pork jowl came with chives and potato salad too, and honestly the whole plating felt so generous, I loved it!

The soy-braised pork jowl was so good that these days I've been trying to pace myself when I eat it, but I gave up on pacing and just went for it,, to the point I nearly got sick 😕 That's how much jowl braise I kept eating. Totally recommend it as a drinking snack!

Free soft-serve ice cream you pull yourself

And there was soft-serve ice cream right by the entrance of Jansang, the Deokcheon Korean gastropub too,,😋 Being able to serve yourself made it easy to enjoy. It's set up inside the main hall, so it's perfect as a sweet dessert after drinking... I love this kind of service so much 😎 The soft-serve had a rich milky flavor that was easy to enjoy ☺

Here's where Jansang in Deokcheon is located! Deokcheon is compact and easy to navigate, so it's an easy walk from Deokcheon Station too. The menu is varied and fun to pick from, and the staff were all so kind — overall a great meal at this Deokcheon bar 😃

I'm curious about their dak-doritang (spicy braised chicken) too, so if I get another chance to come back, I'd love to try that! They also had a review event running, which is a nice perk of visiting a branch that's just recently opened, at this Deokcheon bar..😎
