Hi everyone. I'm now 25 weeks pregnant. I heard pregnant women can start waxing after week 20, so I looked for a nearby waxing salon with lots of experience with pregnant clients, and that's how I found Waxing Lounge Sindorim. Here's my review!

Just so you know, this was my first ever Brazilian wax.. I was too shy and figured it would hurt too much, so I never had any interest before, but I heard it's more hygienic during and after delivery, so I worked up my courage and tried it 🔥

Waxing Lounge Sindorim Branch is on the 1st floor of Sindorim Technomart, open daily 11:00–21:00, closed the second Tuesday of every month. It was closed for the September Chuseok holiday, and you can use the Technomart parking lot.

Reservation-only entry and the pregnancy week form

Waxing Lounge Sindorim Branch runs on a reservation-only basis, so the door is locked~ Ring the bell and wait a moment, and a staff member will guide you in.

Inside, you take off your shoes, switch to slippers, and store your shoes in a basket under the sofa.

While waiting, you fill out a form with information like your pregnancy week and the hospital you're attending.

There was even an article about the shop being selected as an outstanding waxing salon in Guro-gu 👍🏼 The price list was also neatly organized, which I liked.

My first Brazilian wax at 24 weeks pregnant took about 40 minutes, and there was no cramping. It was bearable pain, though I did tense up in the sensitive spots.

(I survived thanks to the sandwich plush toy...🥪 thank you..) Once cleansing was done, it was finally waxing time, huff huff 😮‍💨 I was so nervous since it was my first time, but I braced myself knowing the pain and hair growth get much lighter by the 2nd-3rd session.. Pain probably varies by skin type, but personally it was bearable, though in the painful spots I found myself going ugh.. ugh and tensing up haha. I only realized when I shifted position that the hygiene paper underneath had torn from my sweat, lol. Seeing that made me think, okay, it really does hurt.. but still, it was manageable! (no cramping)

The therapist's hands were quick and she chatted comfortably with me throughout, so the whole session felt easy and went by fast. I thought it might take over an hour, but it was about 40 minutes.

Aftercare for pregnancy waxing and how the skin looked 10 days later

Waxing Lounge gave aftercare instructions numbered 1 through 10, and said that since skin is sensitive right after, the best thing is not to scratch or touch it with your hands, and to apply a cooling aloe gel with low alcohol content.

Since I'm pregnant, they said scrubs aren't recommended, but if you're worried about ingrown hairs, they suggested gently using a pregnancy-safe scrub. I only used aloe gel, and even 10 days later I have no particular itchiness, discomfort, or skin irritation! So I'm really, really satisfied. If you're on the fence, I'd recommend getting a consultation and giving it a try.
