Cheongdam hair salon brightening brown for wedding photos: Anew Hair
In short
Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch is a hair consulting salon in Cheongdam, Gangnam, Seoul, a five-minute walk from Gangnam-gu Office Station Exit 2. One week before her wedding shoot, the writer talked her dark hair over with Team Leader Soyoon and had it dyed a naturally brighter brown; after a few washes the color settled and her waves and hair texture read well under the shoot lighting. If you want to lift your tone before a wedding shoot, Anew Hair Cheongdam is worth booking a consultation with first.

Why a wedding shoot a week away led to Anew Hair Cheongdam
With my wedding shoot just a week away, I noticed my hair color looked kind of dark. I figured the lighting on the day would make it look even darker and hide the wave texture, so I visited Anew Hair Cheongdam — well known for wedding dyes :)
Anew Hair Cheongdam location: 5 minutes from Gangnam-gu Office Station

Anew Hair is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Gangnam-gu Office Station. It's close enough to the station that there's no chance of getting lost, and it was easy to reach by public transport.
Inside the Cheongdam salon

Walking in, the salon was clean and pleasant overall. There was plenty of space for treatment seats. Personally, my favorite part was the plant decor arranged in the center of the store ღ

The shampoo room and the clinic space were each separated. They're away from the main treatment area, so I could get care in a quieter, more comfortable setting.
The hair consultation: which colors you dislike comes first

I hadn't come in with an exact color already decided. I just told them the feeling I wanted — brighter than now, but not too yellow or red, something that wouldn't make my skin look dull and would go naturally with the dress.

Rather than me half-guessing a color, I decided to go with the direction the stylist recommended after actually seeing the state of my hair. When you consult, it helps to mention colors you dislike as well as photos of colors you like .ᐟ
How Team Leader Soyoon did the wedding dye, step by step

Right after the consultation, we started the dye .ᐟ I was worried it might come out patchy, but Team Leader Soyoon first carefully checked the condition of my hair, then meticulously applied the dye from root to tip so the color would flow naturally.

As soon as the dye started, they brought me a drink and a light snack ◡̈

Even the glimpse of hair color during the shampoo rinse felt noticeably brighter .ᐟ I was so curious how it turned out that I wanted to run to the mirror right away haha
The result: a brown just one tone brighter

I had asked for brighter, but I was worried it might end up so light that my hair looked like it was floating. Luckily it wasn't too yellow or too light — it felt like a natural brightening of my existing hair, not overwhelming at all, and I loved it.

Once my hair was fully dried and I checked the color, I couldn't help thinking, 'Yes, this is it!' ㅎ.ㅎ Best of all, with the brighter color, the waves and hair texture showed up so much better than before — I was glad I dyed it before the wedding shoot :)

Before and after, and the color a few washes later
Looking just at the before/after photos, the 'before' almost looks brighter, right? Right after the dye, the color felt a bit muted, but after a few washes it settled naturally into a really pretty brown. Personally, I liked the color a few days later much more than on dye day .ᐟ.ᐟ
How did the brown look under the wedding shoot lights?

On shoot day, the color had settled naturally into exactly the pretty brown I wanted ꉂ(ˊฅˋ*) It didn't look too dark under the shoot lighting either, and my waves and texture showed up beautifully — I finished the shoot very satisfied .ᐟ
While researching Gangnam hair salon dye reviews, I worried I might regret changing my hair color right before the shoot for nothing. But thanks to Team Leader Soyoon carefully checking my hair condition and the look I wanted, and matching the color accordingly, it came out exactly the natural brown I hoped for and looked lovely in the shoot photos too.
