My hair had gotten heavy overall and the layers had gone kind of vague, so it needed a proper reset — this time I went to Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch and got a layered cut from Director Eunbyeol.

I only got a cut this time, but what stuck with me was how thorough and detailed the 1:1 consultation was before the service — way more than I expected. The first thing I noticed walking in was how clean everything felt!! Decorated all in white tones, so the interior felt bright and tidy 🤍

The shampoo area was spaced out comfortably too, and everything was well maintained overall.

Besides the styling area, there was also a separate spa room for head spa treatments. I only got a layered cut this time, but since scalp care came up during the consultation, that room caught my eye too 👀

Personally, what stood out most at Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch was the hair consultation. Usually at a salon you just chat briefly about the style right in the chair before starting, right! Here they had an entirely separate consultation room where I sat down 1:1 with Director Eunbyeol first 🫶

We looked at reference styles and my current hair condition together on an iPad and talked through the direction step by step — it wasn't just 'I want a layered cut, okay let's go,' but she also checked my current hair condition and how I usually style it, which really showed how detailed and thorough the consultation was!

The consultation room even had a separate scalp diagnosis camera, and Director Eunbyeol personally checked my scalp condition with it. Not just confirming the style I wanted but checking both hair and scalp condition to set the direction — I could see exactly why people come here for Gangnam hair consultations :)

Looking in the mirror, she also considered my face shape and overall vibe, giving me a thorough consultation on what style would suit me.

Before the cut, my hair had lost most of its layers and felt heavy all over. On top of that, the color was splotchy from frequent self-dyeing..😭 So we decided to clean it all up with a layered cut.

Once the thorough consultation wrapped up, the layered cut actually began! Rather than drastically changing the overall length, I went with tidying up the heavy hair and adding layers naturally! Based on everything we'd discussed, Director Eunbyeol carefully cut while checking the overall balance.

After the cut and the blow-dry, my hair definitely felt way lighter than before!! The length itself wasn't drastically shortened, but adding layers completely changed the overall silhouette🩶

After the layered cut, the hair that used to fall heavy now had natural layers, making it feel much lighter!!

What I liked best was that even the splotchy self-dyed parts looked much more even than before🤍 She even finished with styling, so my hair looked good before heading off to my appointment!
