Cheonan pork belly with Jirisan kudzu cold noodles: Cham Dwaejitgan
In short
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant on the restaurant row in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan, grilling pork over rice-husk smoked charcoal. Visiting with a child, the writer ordered two servings of Boseong Nokdon premium pork belly, one serving of cheongyeopsal (pork jowl) and Jirisan kudzu bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), and the staff grilled every piece at the table. The tender pork jowl won the child over, and the potato wraps served at the end were the bite worth coming back for.

A review from Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch, a pork belly restaurant in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan — I ate so well thanks to the surprising combo of potato wraps and pork belly!

Cham Dwaejitgan on the Dujeong-dong restaurant row: parking and the room
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch sits on Dujeong-dong's restaurant row in Cheonan, and parking is available right in front. Call ahead about parking and the owner will kindly guide you — worth keeping in mind! I searched hard for a pork belly place I could take my kid to in Cheonan and landed here.
Walking inside, the space was spacious and clean, with a comfortable vibe — I felt like I'd picked well! The tables had generous spacing too, so it looked fine for company dinners, family gatherings, or group visits. There's also a Naver review event and an Instagram event, so join in and get some perks!
What's on the Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong menu: Jirisan black pork and Boseong Nokdon
Here's the menu at Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch —

Jirisan black pork 1+ grade pork belly and pork neck

Between Boseong Nokdon grade-1 premium pork belly, flower neck, cheongyeopsal (pork jowl), and gabrisal, we ordered two servings of Boseong Nokdon pork belly and one serving of cheongyeopsal (jowl)!

Rice-husk smoked charcoal grilling on a dual grill plate
I was staring at the grill plate because it looked so unusual, and then a staff member came over —

Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch grills over rice-husk smoked charcoal, so the brazier is loaded with rice husks and charcoal,

and thanks to the dual grill plate structure, the fat that drips off the meat cooking on the round plate flows down to cook the minari (water dropwort), bean sprouts, and kimchi perfectly — the staff explained it all so kindly!

Our order: Boseong Nokdon pork belly and cheongyeopsal (jowl). The meat looked seriously amazing too — you could tell right away it was quality and fresh!

The basic banchan and wraps came out neatly arranged, one by one, and if anything runs low you can use the self-serve bar!

Staff grill every piece of pork at your table
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch offers a grilling service, where

the staff grill each piece of meat perfectly for you, one at a time, so all you have to do is sit back and eat — total lifesaver~
Maybe because it's grade-1 Boseong Nokdon pork fed green tea, the meat quality was really good and thick — the more you chewed, the more juice came out — and the staff grilled it at just the right timing for that crisp-outside, juicy-inside finish. Since it's a handmade grill plate, the fat didn't splatter at all, so it was genuinely clean too!

Cheongyeopsal (pork jowl) and the sauces that won over our child
The pork belly was full of deep flavor, and the cheongyeopsal (jowl) was so soft and moist that my kid ate it right up. Grilled over rice-husk smoke and charcoal, it also had a subtle smoky flavor that made it even better!
There was also a wide range of sauces to pair with the banchan, so I never got tired of eating and just kept going —
the spicy sauce and mushroom wasabi combo went really well with the meat. You have to try that pairing!

Potato wraps from the potatoes grilled at the end
The kimchi, bean sprouts, mushrooms, and kkwari-gochu (shishito-style peppers) grilled together on the plate were an unbeatable pairing with the meat too. At the end, the staff grill potatoes and show you how to make a potato wrap — I tried a bite with potato, meat, garlic scape, and a bit of mushroom wasabi all together,

and whoa, it was actually so good,,, the potato was crisp like a chip, and wrapped with the meat it was a total specialty!!! The savoriness of the pork belly meeting the clean, plain potato flavor was genuinely novel and delicious — the kind of taste that keeps popping back into your head haha. Total winning combo, confirmed!!

The side order: Jirisan kudzu bibim naengmyeon
There were plenty of side menu options, and after some deliberation I ordered the Jirisan kudzu bibim naengmyeon (cold noodles),

and the portion was generous, with tangy, refreshing sauce — topping it with a piece of meat made it even better,,🤎 I was too full to try the fried rice afterward, which was a bit of a shame..

Yogurt on the way out, and why we'll be back
Cham Dwaejitgan Cheonan Dujeong Branch even sets out yogurt and candy for a palate cleanser on your way out. Between the taste, the service, and the atmosphere, I was fully satisfied and I'm saving this one for a return visit ✨️

If you're looking for a great pork belly spot in Dujeong-dong, I genuinely recommend this place!! Thanks for the meal :)
