There are so many restaurants in Buldang-dong that it's often hard to decide what to eat. This place is already known as a solid choice, so plenty of families come here — a spot that satisfies both adults and kids! Plus the self-serve bar has unlimited refills of that nostalgic cutlet-shop soup~!

The place is spacious and bright. Browsing the menu, I picked the sweet potato cheese cutlet, since I love sweet potato and cheese together. Worried that cutlet alone might feel a bit greasy, I also ordered cold soba on the side.

Among the pork cutlet restaurants in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, this one seems to be the biggest and most famous.

What does the sweet potato cheese katsu taste like with spicy sauce?

When you're craving king-size pork cutlet in Buldang-dong, this is the place! The cutlet was fried crisp on the outside and generously plated, so it looked hearty just from the sight of it. Since it wasn't a plain cutlet but the sweet potato cheese version, the flavor felt richer with every bite.

The sweet potato cheese cutlet combined the savory, salty taste of cutlet with the sweetness of sweet potato — probably an elementary schooler's favorite menu item~? Adding sweet potato can sometimes make things too sweet, but adding spicy cutlet sauce and eating it together balanced surprisingly well.

How well does cold soba go with the katsu?

The cutlet and cold soba combo worked well together. Eating cutlet continuously can start to feel heavy after a while, but taking bites of chilled soba in between cleaned the palate nicely. Especially with something as savory and sweet as the sweet potato cheese cutlet, pairing it with cool cold soba was a solid combination.

Personally, I like having a side dish like cold soba or udon when I eat cutlet, so I ordered it again this time — and in the end, I was glad I did. If you're visiting as a pair, it might work well to each pick a different cutlet, share them, and add one cold soba, the way we did. (Only possible because the cutlets are so large, haha.)

I didn't expect much from the cold soba, but it was actually better than the udon I had last time. I'll probably order it again next time!

Jinsim Wang Donkatsu Cheonan Buldang lives up to its name as somewhere to go when you want a filling meal. It's especially good for those days in Buldang-dong when you're deciding between lunch and dinner and end up craving cutlet. If eating cutlet alone feels a bit lacking, ordering something like cold soba alongside makes the meal more satisfying. This time I had the sweet potato cheese cutlet with cold soba, but next visit I'm planning to try one of the other cutlet options I haven't had yet.
