On a weekend outing date, after Dongmyo vintage shopping, street food is great, but sometimes you want a proper meal with a bit more atmosphere, right? ^^ That's how I ended up searching and found this place — and honestly it was so satisfying that I really want to recommend it. It's Dongmyo Market!
It's a bit inside the alleys from Dongmyo Station, and the vibe was better than I expected, plus the food was pretty satisfying, so I want to come back again. It's not just a place to eat — you can enjoy wine or craft beer here too, so I bet the atmosphere is totally different in the evening. Let me get into the detailed review~~

Down a Dongmyo alley: red exterior, cozy interior
Dongmyo Market stands in a dark red building tucked into the old alleys around Dongmyo Station. The color itself really catches your eye, so it wasn't hard to find even on my first visit.
Walking further into the alley during my Dongmyo outing, I could really feel the old-school vibe of the neighborhood around Dongmyo Station, which gave me a bit of nostalgic charm haha. Follow the narrow alley a little further and the market appears.
There was a cute bench out front, and overall it felt cleaner than I expected. There's also a restroom outside, and it was well kept too, which I liked.
Opening the door, a much cozier interior than I expected appeared. Four-person tables are the main setup, and the soft lighting throughout made it a nice quiet spot for a meal. The wallpaper and posters had an exotic, vintage feel that matched the whole space quite well.
A little European, a little Hong Kong movie
Personally, I really liked the atmosphere haha. It wasn't purely Western-feeling — it also had a bit of a Hong Kong movie restaurant vibe, which oddly matched the Dongmyo alley mood really well haha. There's also a private room-style space on one side, which looks great for groups >_<
Even hand cream on the counter at Dongmyo Market
One thing that quietly touched me — there was hand cream at the counter haha. It was there for you to use after washing your hands, and small details like that make the space feel more comfortable haha.

Dongmyo Market has a varied menu, from pasta to fried rice, tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes), fricassee, and napolitan. There are also anju (drinking snacks) like jamón and grilled cheese that go well with wine or craft beer.
They say the most popular menu item is the seafood butter pasta. Besides that, bacon kimchi fried rice and seafood tteokbokki are also frequently ordered.
Picking your own bottle from the wine cellar
Since they carry such a variety of drinks, there's a wine cellar-like space on one side stocked with many kinds of wine.
Even if you don't know much about wine, you can look at the bottles yourself and pick one to your taste, so it seemed easy for wine beginners to enjoy without pressure.
They also sell snacks like this. Cute, right? Haha. And you can pick your own glass too! Just grab whatever drinks you want from here. I had cola that day, but next time, since this is such a well-known Dongmyo wine spot, I really want to try the wine!!

Ta-da, I picked up a cup along with my cola too — cute, right? Haha. There were a lot of vintage glasses here, apparently sold in the nearby toy market area. This is peak Dongmyo vintage style!!!!
You can also grab water and ice on one side. So sweet.
Does it go well with cola? Haha.

Seafood butter pasta: shrimp, squid and mussels galore
Dongmyo Market's signature seafood butter pasta (₩21,000) is a seafood pasta packed with large chunks of shrimp, squid, and mussels. Honestly, when you order seafood pasta, it often comes with just a few small pieces of frozen seafood, right?
But here, the seafood was genuinely generous ㅠㅠㅠ. The shrimp were nice and big, and the squid and mussels were fairly large too, so seafood came up with practically every bite of pasta. There was so much substance in it — really satisfying.
I twirled the noodles and tried it — even though it's called butter pasta, it wasn't overly rich or greasy. It had a slight oil-pasta feel too, blending with the abundant seafood for a really good savory flavor. The cheese on top added a nutty richness that made it even more delicious.
After tasting it, I understood why it's the signature dish!? Haha. If you're looking for pasta in Dongmyo, you've got to try this one,, please, just eat it,,
Bacon kimchi fried rice with a fusion twist
Dongmyo Market's bacon kimchi fried rice (₩16,000) is topped with cheese and arugula, giving it a look quite different from typical kimchi fried rice. It had a slightly fusion feel haha.
Simple yet has that certain vibe, don't you think???? And the kimchi was well-fermented sour kimchi, which suits the Korean palate perfectly haha.
Eating the arugula along with it in between bites added a fragrant touch that worked better than I expected. Personally, this one was satisfying too ㅠ.
Bread and spreads: the perfect palate cleanser
And here's the bread and spread I ordered extra that day. I've been really into brioche bread lately, and suddenly craved bread again that day haha. So I added it, and it turned out to be an excellent choice,,,
The bread was fairly plain overall, but it came out warm, which made it even more delicious, and the subtle buttery brioche aroma really won me over. The spreads that came with it were quite generous too!!!! You could spread jam and butter as you liked, so there was never a feeling of not having enough. Cleansing my palate with bread between bites of pasta turned out to be a great combo haha.
Craving wine or craft beer in Dongmyo?
Dongmyo Market has wine, craft beer, and even soju, so it's a good spot to visit with friends who have different drink preferences. Due to some health issues, I haven't been able to drink for a while, but looking at the other tables, office workers who'd just finished work were enjoying wine or beer with their meal!! They even provide an ice basket haha.
That scene looked like a pretty good atmosphere, so next time I'd love to come after work myself and have a glass of wine with my meal. If you're looking for a good Dongmyo restaurant where you can eat well and enjoy the vibe, this place is pretty solid. The food menu is more filling than expected, so it felt less like just a bar and more like a place where you can have a full meal along with a drink.
