Seogwipo sushi restaurant with cold radish noodle takeout: Jejju

When you're traveling around Jeju, there are days when you've been out and about so much that even hunting down a restaurant for dinner feels like too much effort haha. That was us on this day — after driving around all over the place, we just wanted to get back to the hotel and eat comfortably.

So we looked for a takeout spot in Seogwipo and stopped by Jejju Donghong Branch, a place a lot of Jeju locals go to as well. The menu ranges from sushi and rice bowls to lunchboxes and cold noodles, so it was easy for everyone to pick what they wanted. We got a sushi bento and yeolmu naengguksu to go and ate them back at the hotel :)

Where is Jejju Donghong Branch, and what are its hours and parking?

Jejju Donghong Branch is located at 58-8 Donghongjungang-ro, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, and it's open every day from 10:30 to 23:00. Last order is at 21:30.

Parking is available too, which made it easy to stop by while driving around on a Jeju trip. You can eat in the restaurant, but grabbing food to go and eating comfortably at your hotel — like we did — is also a great option! How varied is the menu at Jejju Donghong Branch?

The menu at Jejju Donghong Branch had sushi of course, but also salmon dishes, spicy octopus rice bowl, pork bulgogi rice bowl, udon, and cold noodles. We originally just went in to grab sushi to go, but seeing how varied the menu actually was, it was nice that we didn't have to settle on just one thing.

When you're traveling with a group, deciding on a menu is honestly the hardest part haha. Someone wants rice, someone wants noodles — but here, with so many options, that wasn't an issue at all. As soon as we got to the hotel, we opened up the sushi bento from Jejju Donghong Branch, and the spread was pretty substantial for one meal. It wasn't just sushi alone — there were several different things to eat together, which made for a simple but satisfying meal while traveling.

The sushi in particular had slightly different flavors depending on the piece, so it was fun picking through them one by one. There were also good sides to go with the sushi already included, so it was convenient not having to prep anything extra — we could just dig in right at the hotel.

On a Jeju trip, a proper sit-down meal at a restaurant is nice, but eating takeout in comfortable clothes back at the hotel like this is its own kind of fun on a trip haha. How do the yeolmu naengguksu and sushi bento go together?

The yeolmu naengguksu we ordered alongside the sushi bento paired pretty well with it. After being on the move all day around Jeju, we were craving something cold and noodle-based, so we ordered it too — it's a cold, refreshing dish, so it went well alternating with the sushi.

Taking a bite of sushi, then some cold noodles, then back to sushi — eating that way felt way less repetitive than sticking to just one dish. Especially for hotel-room meals, something you can just unpack and eat right away, without anything too heavy or fussy, is really the best. It was the perfect hotel dinner after a packed day of sightseeing in Jeju.

Is Jejju Donghong Branch worth it for takeout in Seogwipo?

You can eat at Jejju Donghong Branch right in the restaurant, but it was just as convenient to get it to go and eat at the hotel like I did. Having sushi, rice bowls, and noodle dishes all on the menu was also a plus — easy to pick something for everyone's taste even when traveling in a group.
