Guro grill buffet that's quiet at weekday lunch: Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi
In short
Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi is an all-you-can-eat pork belly, dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and drinks restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Huijeon Building near Exit 2 of Guro Digital Complex Station in Seoul, and it is the former Sagyejinmi under a new name. On a weekday lunch visit the hall was quiet, so the writer started with thin-sliced pork belly and then grilled chicken neck again and again, with self-bar sides and drinks refilled without limit. For an easy-going group dinner in Guro, Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi is the answer.

A Guro work-dinner favorite for all-you-can-eat dakgalbi, pork belly, and drinks: Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi (formerly Sagyejinmi).

Sagyejinmi didn't close — it was renamed Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi
I'd been to a few Guro work-dinner spots, and one I remembered eating well at, generously, was a place called Sagyejinmi. This time when I went to visit again, I found the name had changed to Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi. Thankfully it was just a name change — the owner and the whole system were exactly the same, so I ended up eating incredibly well again :-)
So let me share with you my review of Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi, the Guro pork belly and drinks all-you-can-eat restaurant where I ate until I nearly burst.

A wide hall for group dinners, quiet at weekday lunch
True to its Guro work-dinner reputation, the place had plenty of space set up for group use. There are so many companies around here that even on weeknights the crowds pile in every evening, right? It's always a struggle deciding where to eat, but Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi (formerly Sagyejinmi) takes the pressure off with unlimited pork belly and drinks — completely worth the price!!

When I visited, it was a weekday afternoon, so it wasn't crowded and felt quiet. That let me eat at a much more relaxed pace.

What meats the buffet has, and the order to grill them in
Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi's meat lineup wasn't just pork belly — there was chicken neck, galbi (marinated ribs), and thin-sliced pork belly too. It's a dakgalbi restaurant, so of course there's dakgalbi, but personally I found the chicken neck ridiculously good... Since seasoned meat burns easily over the fire, the best order is to grill the plain salted meat first, then switch the grill plate and move on to the gochujang (chili paste) marinated pieces and galbi!!

Self-bar sides: take only as much as you'll eat
There was so much to eat that I think I went back and forth 3-4 times...! If you get greedy here, you won't have room left for the meat, so grab sides in portions you'll actually finish :-) There were all kinds of sauces too, enough to try your own recipe combinations. They even had stir-fried kimchi, rice, and roasted seaweed flakes laid out, so it was fun picking and choosing.

Drinks are included in the all-you-can-eat too. The price is really kind — can they really let us have all this unlimited...? Is there anything left over for the owner! T_T I panicked at first thinking Sagyejinmi had shut down, but relax — it's just a name change :-) There's really nothing that beats this place for a Guro work dinner.

Thin-sliced pork belly first, then dakgalbi and chicken neck
Since I was absolutely starving, I grilled the quick-cooking thin-sliced pork belly first! Then I grilled the pork belly, dakgalbi, and chicken neck together after that.

I also liked that there were so many chicken-based side dishes — you could try soy sauce, spicy sauce, and fried chicken all in one place, plus a chicken-based gomtang (bone broth soup) to fill you up in different ways.

Personally, pickled radish is a must with dakgalbi!! You need to pair it with all kinds of vegetables so you don't get sick of it and can keep eating haha.

Why the chicken neck ended up taking over the grill
Before I knew it, I realized I was focusing entirely on the chicken neck.

Look at that golden-brown chicken neck... just writing this post makes my mouth water again. If I ever go back for another Guro work dinner, I'll have to beg everyone hard to pick Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi again :-) If you're planning to visit, skip a meal beforehand... haha. Come ready to be completely full!! If you want a no-pressure all-you-can-eat night out in Guro, I hope you all get to enjoy a generous work dinner together at Bak Jeongmi Dakgalbi.
