Goyang forest-view café with a baby: melon smoothie, Baedagol Bakery

In short

Baedagol Bakery House is a large forest-view bakery café on Hoguk-ro 1121beon-gil in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. On a weekday afternoon visit with a baby, the order was a fresh melon overflow smoothie and an americano with salt bread, fruit cheese Basque cake, Gongju chestnut bread and tomato basil bread, and baby chairs plus wide walkways kept the stroller easy to move. Baedagol Bakery House has no nursing room or diaper changing table, but the forest view alone made the trip fully worth it.

Today I visited Baedagol Bakery House, a café near Seoul in Goyang, with my baby. It's a large café, and the atmosphere — like being tucked inside a little forest — looked so lovely that I'd wanted to visit for a while.

Baedagol Bakery House first floor: the forest-view window wall

On the 1st floor, bread is displayed near the entrance, and further inside there's a lovely, atmospheric setup with a green forest view and wooden tables.

Just looking at it felt so healing, and I liked that the tables were spaced widely so it didn't feel crowded. Even on a weekday afternoon there were quite a few people, haha.

With the floor-to-ceiling windows, chatting while looking outside with the cool AC breeze on you was healing in itself.

Is Baedagol Bakery House okay with a baby? Baby chairs and stroller space

I didn't need to worry about bringing my baby since baby chairs were available. The walkways were also wider than I expected, so the stroller fit fine. Just a note — there's no nursing room or diaper changing table. I ended up handling that in the car, haha. Apparently the Baedagol Forest branch does have a dedicated nursing room — Bakery House and Forest are different locations!

Since melon is in season right now, big melons were on display. You can try the signature menu made with fresh melon. Also, if you don't finish your bread, you can pack it up yourself at the self-serve bar, haha.

Baedagol Bakery House second floor: the open-plan room

Heading up to the 2nd floor, you can enjoy coffee while looking out the window in an even quieter setting. There's also an open-plan room that looked great for small gatherings.

Aren't the windows so pretty? Haha. Even just looking at the photos feels healing, honestly!

Drinks at this Goyang café: the Fresh Melon Overflow Smoothie

Personally, I recommend the seasonal fruit signature menu. I heard the melon bingsu is delicious, but since I had my baby with me, I figured I couldn't really eat it, so I went with the smoothie among the Fresh Melon Overflow latte/ade/smoothie options.

The result was a total win, haha! The melon was really sweet and delicious, and there was so much of it packed in! The americano let you choose the acidity level too, and the coffee itself was really refined and tasty.

Looking out the window... I just felt happy... the weather was sunny too... I really had no idea a place this pretty existed just 20 minutes by car from Seoul. So healing, ㅠㅠ. Personally I recommend the americano and the melon smoothie.

Drinks and bread on the café table

For bread, I ended up buying three: I chose the salt bread, fruit cheese Basque cake, princess chestnut bread, and tomato basil bread (from the review event).

Fruit cheese Basque cake

Fruit cheese Basque cake topped with fruit

Personally, the fruit cheese Basque cake wasn't the dense, gooey type — it had a fluffier texture. It felt appropriately bread-like, so it wasn't heavy, and it was topped generously with fruit.

Tomato basil bread

This is my personal favorite pick. I'll definitely have it again next time... the tomato basil bread was really, really good. I love sandwiches and pizza-bread type things, so if your taste is similar to mine, you'll enjoy it too.

Salt bread and Gongju chestnut bread

I also tried the princess chestnut bread and the salt bread separately, and it was nice that you could pack up whatever was left yourself. Personally, the salt bread was clean and basic in the best way, and the chestnut bread was my husband's pick, haha — the chestnuts were ground up with big chunks mixed in too, giving it a crumbly texture.

The outdoor space at Baedagol Bakery House

Who knew such a wonderful café existed just outside the city~ I loved it. Seeing it in person, it's even greener, with a breeze flowing through... it was really great, and I was sad photos couldn't capture it all.

Baedagol Bakery House makes you feel like you're taking a nature walk with your baby! I'm completely satisfied.

Personally, this forest view was really lovely, and I've been to a nearby café with geese roaming around before — this place was far more satisfying than that one, haha.

Want to go for a drive with your baby? If you're looking for a café in Goyang, I recommend Baedagol Bakery House :-)
