Wondang bakery café in Goyang with dense cheesecake and mont blanc

I had somewhere to be in Goyang recently, so I was looking around for a good Goyang café — not just a place for coffee, but somewhere with tasty bread too, a little bit away from downtown, with a nice atmosphere where I could relax! Since we had a car, I figured going a bit outside Seoul would be fine, and that's how I found this Wondang Station café, Baedagol Bakery House!

It's not super close to Wondang Station, but it's only about 10 minutes by car, so it actually felt nice to get a little away from the busy downtown and relax~ If you've been looking for a Goyang café with a variety of breads, good coffee, and a nice vibe, today's Baedagol Bakery House might be a good pick haha!!! Let's get into it!

Where is Baedagol Bakery House? Parking and hours

Baedagol Bakery House is located at 123 Hogukro 1121beon-gil, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open daily from 10:00 to 21:20 (last order 20:30). There's a parking lot in front of the café, so parking is available, and a separate contact number is listed.

It was raining that day so I drove to Baedagol Bakery House! Since it's a café that's a bit out of the way, driving seemed more convenient, and when I arrived, I was glad to see the parking lot was big! There's plenty of space, so even on weekends or busy times, parking stress seemed unlikely~

For those visiting by public transit, you can take a bus from Wondang Station, get off at Wondanggol stop, and walk about 5 minutes to arrive! We came by car, but for younger visitors, public transit works fine too!

The moment I got out of the car, the first thing that caught my eye was flowers haha. It was a rainy day so the sky was gray, which was a bit of a shame, but the hydrangeas near the entrance were blooming so beautifully~ Seeing white hydrangeas among the green leaves put me in a good mood even before stepping into the café,,, There was also outdoor seating available, though we couldn't really use it because of the rain, ugh.

Still, maybe because there was so much greenery around, the faint smell of plants was lovely, and the lilies were in full bloom too, making the whole path to the entrance pretty~ On a nicer day, sitting outside with coffee and bread would have been great too! It has a relaxed feel that's different from downtown cafés, so if you like that kind of atmosphere and are looking for a Wondang café, this could be a good visit.

As soon as you walk into Baedagol Bakery House, cakes are on the left and a bread showcase is on the right. Breads like sweet pumpkin loaf, chestnut loaf, and walnut mocha were neatly lined up.

The first thing that caught my eye walking into the café was of course the bread showcase!! When you visit a bakery café, you have to check out the bread first, right haha. Cakes were displayed on the left, and various kinds of bread were lined up neatly behind the glass on the right~

One thing that impressed me while browsing the showcase was that they use domestic rice flour and chestnut dice, and French flour as well — they clearly pay attention to the ingredients that go into the bread!! Best of all, the origin of the ingredients was well labeled, so it was nice to be able to check what was used while choosing~ Seeing this, it really felt like a 'bakery' true to its name, a place serious about its bread.

Looking around one by one, there were quite a lot of tasty-looking breads, from sweet pumpkin loaf to chestnut loaf and walnut mocha. Especially when I could see chestnut dice peeking out between the bread, it just looked like 'this has to be good...' ugh.

And in the cake showcase next to it, tiramisu and cheesecake stood out — after a lot of deliberation between the two, I went with the cheesecake since it looked more delicious that day haha.

Beyond bread, the drink menu was quite varied too, from TWG tea, which I love, to handmade teas, ades, and even a menu using fresh melon! Looking through the menu one by one, it felt like more than just a coffee café — there was something for everyone's taste.

After much deliberation, we ordered salt bread, cheesecake, mont blanc, and for drinks, two hot Americanos and a choco latte~

Self-service zone for boxing up bread, plus indoor seating

On one side of Baedagol Bakery House, there's a self-service zone with bags prepared so you can pack up leftover bread to take home. Even though it was raining, there were already quite a lot of people seated inside.

After ordering and heading inside, there were already quite a lot of people seated. Even on a rainy day the place was busy, and I thought, 'this must be a genuinely popular café!' haha,,, Sometimes you get full while eating bread and end up with leftovers, but it feels wasteful to throw away good bread, ugh. I liked that they thoughtfully set things up so you can take the leftovers home~

Dense cheesecake at a garden-view window seat

At Baedagol Bakery House, we sat at a spot with a garden view through the floor-to-ceiling window. The cheesecake I was most looking forward to was on the dense side, which was satisfying.

Once we properly settled into our seats, we could see the garden through the window,,, ugh,, if the weather had been clear that day the lush green scenery would have been even prettier,, but still, watching the rain fall outside and the garden glisten with moisture felt kind of atmospheric too~~ It made me feel unexpectedly calm,,~_~

First up, the cheesecake I was most looking forward to! This little guy,,, was so good, ugh!!!! These days even cheesecake can end up lighter than expected or with a weak cheese flavor, but this cheesecake here is quite dense!!! It melts smoothly in your mouth with just the right amount of cheese aroma rising up — not overpoweringly strong, but definitely present, and I loved that!!

Buttery salt bread and a surprisingly good Americano

The mont blanc and salt bread we ordered together were also delicious — the salt bread was so good that I devoured it too quickly and forgot to take a photo haha... It had so much butter coating it that if you, like me, love a salt bread loaded with butter, this one's highly recommended!!!

And here, while the bread itself was great, what personally surprised me was the coffee! The hot Americano was stronger than expected, so pairing it with the sweet breads worked really well — taking a bite of the sweet mont blanc and then a sip of the strong Americano cleaned up my palate perfectly!

Is Baedagol Bakery House worth a trip to Wondang, Goyang?

Overall it was a Goyang café where the bread was delicious and the garden was pretty, making it a great place to spend some relaxed time haha. I especially enjoyed the dense cheesecake, salt bread, and mont blanc, and now I want to come back and try other breads too!

Visitors ranged from older folks to younger people, so it seemed like a good spot for a family outing too, and on a nice day, enjoying coffee and bread outdoors would be even better~ If you've been looking for a Wondang café with tasty bread, a relaxed atmosphere, and easy parking, give Baedagol Bakery House a visit!
