In short

Baedagol Bakery House is a large bakery café in Wondang, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi, with a first floor, second floor, terrace, and outdoor garden. On a weekend drive the writer relaxed in the outdoor garden with a fresh melon latte and americano, walnut sticky bread and fig campagne, and found the sand play area and diaper-changing station right next to the garden made it easy to bring kids along. With a quiet garden and generously spaced seating, it's a café worth lingering in.

Outdoor garden view at Baedagol Bakery House

I'd been stuck at home all weekend and got restless, so I went for a drive and stopped by Baedagol Bakery House, a Goyang café. In the pretty garden, cool breeze and all, I sipped a seasonal fruit drink and just relaxed — total healing.

Where do you park?

There's space for about 10 cars right in front of this Goyang café,

and there are also lots 2 and 3 right across the street, so it's great for group gatherings — everyone can drive over separately after a meal just to enjoy dessert.

Wow, so many events going on?! Along with review events, they had all sorts of other promotions. The birthday gift event especially caught my eye, haha.

A space with a garden and a sand play area

Baedagol Bakery House is a Goyang café made up of a first floor, second floor, second-floor terrace, and an outdoor garden.

There's a lot of seating, and the outdoor garden is beautifully kept and lush and green — it looks like you'd get to see gorgeous hydrangeas if you visit in June or July.

Lush green outdoor garden

Last winter I came with my dog, and since dogs aren't allowed inside, we hung out in the outdoor garden instead — this time, the garden was so pretty that just sitting in it felt healing.

There's also a sand play area for kids, so it's great to visit with children, and it's quiet and cozy enough for a date with your partner, or a relaxing hangout with family — a Goyang café that works for all of them.

What we ordered — fresh melon latte and americano

They offer a wide range of baked goods along with coffee, tea, lattes, handmade teas, juices, smoothies, ades, and snow-flake bingsu.

Here's what we ordered: walnut sticky bread, fig campagne, a fresh melon latte, and an americano!

I'd heard this place is known around Goyang for its seasonal fruit drinks, and right now it seems to be melon season. There's a whole lineup — fresh melon latte, ade, yogurt smoothie, and snow-flake bingsu!

Fresh melon drink menu

The signature menu item, the 'fresh melon latte,' actually has real melon chunks in it — just give it a good stir before drinking.

A glass of fresh melon latte

A nutty, sweet latte — with real melon it tasted even fresher, and there was the fun of eating the crisp melon pieces too.

The americano, made with special beans, was rich and nutty without any sourness, with a fragrant aroma and flavor.

Baked goods lined up in the display case

Salt bread, garlic bread, red bean bread, chestnut bread, croissants, campagne, scones, sticky bread, baguettes, bagels, squid ink crumble, ciabatta, mont blanc, mammoth bread, cheese brioche, plain loaf, basil tomato bread, squid ink sausage bread, hot dogs, and more — plus various cakes, made with all kinds of ingredients. Everything is displayed inside a glass case, which felt very hygienic and trustworthy.

Touch the button on the left and the door slides open smoothly so you can easily grab whatever bread you want, then touch it again and the door closes to keep out dust and debris.

Tasting the walnut sticky bread and fig campagne

The walnut sticky bread was chewy with walnuts folded in, nutty with a really satisfying bite.

Cross-section of the fig campagne

The fig campagne had fig seeds that popped as you chewed, and its sweetness paired really well with coffee.

Seating and kid-friendly amenities

With wide floor-to-ceiling windows letting in plenty of sunlight, this Wondang bakery café has a bright, comfortable atmosphere. The variety of table styles also keeps things interesting, never dull.

Both the men's and women's restrooms have diaper-changing stations, so it's easy to visit with a baby. They've also set up a self-service bar with plastic gloves and bags so you can take home any leftover bread.
