Goyang café 2nd-floor garden-view seats with TWG tea: Baedagol Bakery

In short

Baedagol Bakery House is a large bakery café with an outdoor garden in Wondang, Goyang, Gyeonggi. Visiting on a rainy weekday afternoon with the first floor full, the writer sat by the second-floor garden-view windows and had TWG chamomile and imperial oolong tea with salt bread, walnut glutinous rice bread, and squid ink crumble bread. With a Balmuda toaster, a self-packing zone, and a kids' care zone, it's an easy pick for a family outing.

Sometimes you just want to escape the busy city and enjoy a relaxed cup of coffee with good bakery treats in nature. Today I'm sharing my review of Baedagol Bakery House, a large café on the outskirts of Ilsan that's perfect for a family outing or a weekend date course.

Location and hours of Baedagol Bakery House, a café in Wondang

The address is 123 Hoguk-ro 1121beon-gil, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and it's open daily from 10:00 to 21:00.

This large Ilsan café's biggest strength is its overwhelming scale and nature-friendly atmosphere.

The outdoor garden is beautifully maintained, so on nice days the outdoor terrace seats are a great spot to sit.

Besides Baedagol Bakery House, I found out there's also a Baedagol Bakery Forest nearby. I'll have to check that out next time.

Being greeted by the fragrant scent of flowers really lifts your mood. It seemed like a great place to bring your parents too.

Baedagol Bakery House has ample parking right in front of the store, so there's no burden even if you drive.

This season seems to be melon season. The melon cakes and bingsu (shaved ice dessert) looked absolutely delicious.

Dozens of mouthwatering breads are laid out on display. All baked fresh in-store every morning.

Certificates and origin labels displayed in the store

The certificates and origin labels made me feel even more confident about the taste haha

Coupons and business cards on the counter

There were coupons and business cards too ~ by the way, this store accepts Goyang Pay so I used that. ^^

Tableware and small plates are set up for self-service use, so it's easy to grab what you need ~

Weekday afternoon at the 2nd-floor garden-view window seats

I visited on a weekday afternoon, but the first floor was already full, so I took a seat on the second floor. Floor-to-ceiling windows with a garden view... actually even better!

The second floor of Baedagol Bakery House also has room-like enclosed spaces, which seemed perfect for a family visit haha

At bakery cafés you sometimes end up with leftover bread you can't finish, but Baedagol Bakery House has a self-packing zone so you can take leftover bread home.

Restrooms, a baby crib, and a Balmuda toaster

The most important spot in any café is the restroom, and this was one of the cleanest I've seen among the large Ilsan cafés I've visited. There's even a baby crib, great for diaper changes ~

There's a Balmuda toaster inside the store, and warming up bread with it made it taste so much better. Just 1-2 minutes and you get that fresh-out-of-the-oven taste.

I love nuts so much I had to order the walnut glutinous rice bread

Inside the plain bread there's chewy glutinous rice and plenty of nutty walnuts!

Not an intense sweetness at all — a subtle sweet and nutty flavor that was excellent.

Salt bread

Salt bread, loved by everyone regardless of age or gender, and the price was affordable too.

Crispy outside, chewy inside, and the butter well inside was great too lol. The rich butter flavor and salty taste were the best.

Squid ink crumble

I couldn't imagine what the squid ink crumble would taste like — pitch-black bread topped generously with sweet crumble.

Inside there's chewy rice cake. The bread itself is on the chewy side too,

and the chewy rice cake, bread, and sweet crumble all came together well. I'll definitely try it again next time.

TWG tea on a rainy day

It was chilly that day because of the rain, so choosing a warm tea menu was a very good decision. It refreshed my palate and paired well with the bakery items. The tea bags were also premium quality, so the flavor brewed rich and deep.

Final thoughts

Baedagol Bakery House in Ilsan is a Wondang café I'd recommend when you want a proper refresh in the outskirts, away from the stuffiness of daily life. Spacious, comfortable facilities, excellent bakery, and the ease that nature brings on top of it all! How about a healing time with delicious bread at this wide-open Baedagol Bakery House this week?
