Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu: good-value shabu kalguksu in Munhyeon-dong, Busan
This is Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu, an affordable go-to spot in Munhyeon-dong, Busan. Baby-friendly (baby chairs available), with parking on site.

Where to park at Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu
Finding parking anywhere in Busan is tough, but Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu had convenient basement parking in the building. There were plenty of open spots too.

Inside: baby chairs and the house-made noodle room
Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu is affordable, but it's also genuinely delicious — I was super satisfied!!

The interior is on the spacious side, with lots of tables. Most restaurants in old downtown Busan feel like a hassle with a baby, but Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu was really kid-friendly, which was great.
There were several baby chairs too. I guess a lot of families with young kids live in Munhyeon-dong! Best-best for a family meal out.

Near the entrance there was a space for making noodles from scratch? By the time we arrived, they'd already finished the dough for the day. Would've been fun to see the noodles being made, haha.
Water, broth, and kimchi are all self-serve! Water too — it's in the fridge right next to the self-serve station.

What's on the menu at Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu
Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu, a favorite spot in Munhyeon-dong, Busan, has a single main menu item — you just pick the broth flavor, which made ordering simple. Since we had a baby with us, we ordered 2 servings of white broth on mild + sirloin add-on + kids' rice bowl + cheese fried rice + 1 extra egg.

There's a detailed guide on how to eat it. At first there was so much text I was a little confused, but once I just followed the steps it turned out delicious, haha.

Make sure to dip it in the sauce. It was a total game-changer.

Two adults and one baby: the full shabu-shabu spread
The shabu-shabu arrived at lightning speed. With two servings of shabu kalguksu plus a meat add-on and more, the three of us — two adults and one baby — ate until we were absolutely stuffed. Amazing value!!

The best thing about shabu-shabu is that you get to eat lots of my beloved vegetables. Cooking them in the broth shrinks the portion, making them even easier to eat, haha.
We ate so much I later wondered if I even needed to add the extra meat... lol. Anyway, overall I was super satisfied with Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu in Munhyeon-dong, Busan. Perfect for a simple family meal out.

The utensils came in what looked like a sanitizing cup? That kind of hygiene is the best, haha.
Swapping the fried rice for a 1,500 won kids' rice bowl
Fried rice and kalguksu noodles come as the default. The fried rice is meant to be used to make porridge at the very end, but our baby asked for it to be made into a rice ball instead. So I made a rice ball with just seaweed and rice, no kimchi, and the baby loved it so much I went to order one more fried rice.

I ordered via the tablet at the table, then went to the counter to ask them to leave out the kimchi, and they told me there was actually a kids' rice bowl option!! They canceled the fried rice order and swapped it for the kids' rice bowl — I was so surprised by how conscientious they were.

The kids' rice bowl was ₩1,500, made of seaweed and rice. I'd assumed it was just a regular rice bowl in a smaller kid-sized portion, but it wasn't that at all, haha.
Mushrooms, sirloin, then 5 minutes for the kalguksu noodles

There was a huge pile of mushrooms, which I love, so I was genuinely happy.

Plenty of meat too.
Once I cut up some shabu meat to go with the baby's rice ball, they went completely wild for it. They sat there quietly inhaling their food without a word, so mom and dad got to eat in peace too.
Second up, the kalguksu. From the moment the noodles hit my mouth, I started filling up fast.
We put the noodles in and timed 5 minutes with a sand timer before digging in. Haven't used a sand timer in ages, haha.

As the meal wound down, the photos started looking a bit messier... lol. But it was seriously delicious. Even though I already felt about to burst after the kalguksu, I ended up finishing every last bit.
If you're looking for a good restaurant in Munhyeon-dong, Busan, give Yunujae Munhyeon Shabu Kalguksu a try. It's great to visit with a baby, the staff were completely kind, and best of all, there's a nice big basement parking lot!!!
