Jeonpo curry restaurant with croquette and tempura lunch: Sarugak20
In short
Sarugak20 is a Japanese-style curry restaurant in a basement one minute from Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station in Busanjin, Busan. Lunch here was the Sarugak Curry (tonkatsu and cabbage) at 12,000 won and the half-and-half curry (cream curry and special curry) at 10,000 won, plus a sweet potato cheese croquette and shrimp tempura at 3,500 won each. The beef-packed curry and the crisp fried sides were both excellent, and the wood-toned hall runs from bar seats to six-person tables, so Sarugak20 works for solo diners and groups alike.

A rich, mellow curry spot — Sarugak20. Here's my review after visiting Sarugak20 near Jeonpo Station~
How to find Sarugak20: 1 minute from Jeonpo Station Exit 8
I was craving deep, flavorful curry, so I headed to Sarugak20, said to be a top curry spot in Jeonpo, Busan. I took the subway and came out through Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station.

After walking 1 minute, Sarugak20 came into view. I liked how easy it was to find.

I could check the menu from outside. Sarugak20, the Jeonpo curry restaurant, mainly serves rich Japanese-style curry along with various side dishes like fried items and tonkatsu.

I went down the stairs to the basement.

Inside Sarugak20: natural light and a basement hall with six-person tables
When I walked in, the owner greeted me brightly.
The interior space was spacious. Thanks to the wood-toned decor, I felt a comfortable atmosphere.
Quiet indie music was playing.

Natural light poured in through the large windows, giving the place a bright, warm feel.
There were bar seats good for solo diners or couples, plus six-person tables suited for families or groups — a nice variety of table types.

The service table had water cups and water ready.
There was water with lime and brewed green tea, so I could choose according to my taste.
There was a hand-washing area in the back. I liked that they had nice-smelling hand wash and hand cream too.

What we ordered at Sarugak20 and what it cost
I ordered the Sarugak Curry (tonkatsu + cabbage), half-and-half curry (cream curry + special curry), sweet potato cheese croquette (2pc), and shrimp tempura (2pc).
- Sarugak Curry (tonkatsu + cabbage) ₩12,000
- Half-and-half curry (cream curry + special curry) ₩10,000
- Sweet potato cheese croquette (2pc) ₩3,500
- Shrimp tempura (2pc) ₩3,500

Every table had napkins ready.

After ordering, they brought out spoons and forks first.

The plating at Sarugak20, the Jeonpo curry restaurant, was clean and cute. It felt like being at a curry shop in Japan.
How does the Sarugak Curry with tonkatsu and cabbage (12,000 won) taste?

The Sarugak Curry came with beef curry, tonkatsu, cabbage, and rice.

There was a generous amount of finely minced beef. I liked that the curry sauce had a deep, rich flavor.

The cabbage was fresh. The tonkatsu was super crispy.
The batter was crispy and the pork inside was moist and chewy — delicious.
Half-and-half curry: cream curry and special curry for 10,000 won

The half-and-half curry came with cream curry, beef curry, and rice. I liked being able to alternate between the two types of curry.
The cream curry was thin and smooth. It was slightly salty, which was perfect with rice.

The special beef curry was smooth. It was topped generously with cheese, which made the savory flavor come through even more.
Two fried sides at Sarugak20: sweet potato cheese croquette and shrimp tempura

The sweet potato cheese croquette was crispy outside and soft inside. It was packed with savory cheese and sweet sweet potato — really delicious.

The shrimp tempura was crispy outside and moist inside. You could tell it was fried in clean oil.

The kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi) was crunchy. It went well with the curry.

A comfortable space, delicious curry and fried sides, and a kind owner made for a happy time. If you're looking for a curry restaurant in Jeonpo-dong, I recommend giving this place a try~
