Seafood-packed jangkalguksu 🐙 Sokcho's dog-friendly 'Sokcho Haemul Kkot Jangkalguksu'
What kind of restaurant is Sokcho Haemul Kkot Jangkalguksu?
I visited 'Sokcho Haemul Kkot Jangkalguksu' wanting something special while in Sokcho. It's a seafood-and-meat flower platter hot pot style jangkalguksu, which had me curious .ᐟ.ᐟ And since it's a dog-friendly restaurant in Sokcho, as a dog owner I ran straight there without a second thought 🐶

Parking and location in Sokcho
It's located near Cheongchoho Recreation Area, with a dedicated free parking lot right next to the restaurant, so it was easy to visit by car 🚗
There's even a sun shade set up in the parking lot, so my car wasn't scorching hot when I came back out after eating! Kudos to the owner for thinking of that .. 👍

Can dogs come inside? Borrowing the dog stroller
Even if you forget a bag or dog stroller ✔ the restaurant has dog strollers available for rent. Especially convenient for anyone traveling Sokcho with their dog ✨ I could really feel how thoughtfully the owner had prepared for this, which made the meal even more pleasant (>ω< )
The restaurant is spacious and takes reservations, so it also looked like a good spot for family or group gatherings ~

A self-serve bar where you can grab your own side dishes
They even set aside a sweet potato for our youngest — how did they know dogs go crazy for sweet potato!? Made our little one very happy haha
Menu and prices
Here's the menu for reference ✨️
- Special Seafood Flower Platter for 3 - ₩75,000

What we ordered today is the signature menu, which requires a minimum of 2 people!

We'd booked ahead through Naver Reservation, so the food came out quickly~

They even served ginseng root along with it, which made it feel like real proper hospitality! My parents loved it too, which made me weirdly proud :-)
And there's Gureum standing up and staring — so cute

What comes with the Special Seafood Flower Platter for 3?
When the Special Seafood Flower Platter arrived, what caught my eye first was, of course, the visuals! Seafood piled high on the flower-shaped platter looked incredibly generous just to look at ~

Octopus, abalone, scallops, clams, crab, shrimp — a huge variety of seafood! Plus beef on top, so it's a menu where you can enjoy seafood and meat at the same time 🫶

With so much variety it was fun picking what to eat, and cooking it just lightly made it nice and tender!

The broth and the house-made kalguksu noodles
They said the broth is made using Gangwon-do kelp and doenjang (soybean paste) flavor, simmered fresh every day with sanghwang mushroom and hovenia dulcis extract! Thanks to that the broth had a savory depth, and as the seafood and meat flavors built up, the soup kept getting richer 〜

After eating for a while, in go the kalguksu noodles 🍜
Since it's fresh house-made noodles aged with sanghwang mushroom and potato starch, the chewy texture was great ~ If I'd had more room I would've wanted to try the porridge too .. haha

On the way out, Baskin Robbins ice cream from the receipt review event 🫶 an unexpected palate cleanser ( ≧∀≦)ノ I keep noticing it — the owner's thoughtfulness is amazing...
Wrap-up: why Sokcho Haemul Kkot Jangkalguksu is worth a stop
