Charcoal samgyeopsal with wild garlic sides in Gangnam, Seoul: Giun
In short
Giun Gangnam Station Main Branch is a charcoal samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) restaurant on Dogok-ro 7-gil in Gangnam, Seoul, where staff grill the meat at your table — which is why it works for a wedding-invitation gathering. The Don Giun Set (galbi samgyeop 200g + pork neck 200g + skirt meat 150g, 58,000 won) arrives with wild garlic leaves (myeongi namul), green onion kimchi, pickles, wasabi and shredded scallion, plus a vegetable platter that even includes bracken fern. With no smoke, no slippery floor and wide gaps between tables, Giun suits groups that come to talk as much as to eat.

When friends are planning their wedding, one thing that quietly stresses them out is picking a spot for the 'invitation gathering' where they hand out invitations to close friends. If the place is too noisy, or someone ends up stuck grilling meat the whole time instead of joining the conversation, it can feel kind of bad ㅠㅠ
I recently visited a Korean BBQ restaurant called Giun near Gangnam Station, and it turned out to be just right for a stylish, relaxed invitation gathering in Gangnam!
What Giun Gangnam Station Main Branch looks like, inside and out

The soft, quiet lighting at Giun really stood out!

The first impression the moment you step inside is 'wow, this is stylish and clean.' There was none of the stuffy smoke or sticky floor you usually get at BBQ places — it stayed comfortable the whole time.

The modern, tidy interior suited the occasion of handing out invitations really well! The table spacing was generous and the seating layout comfortable, making it a great space for quiet conversation without feeling noisy.
Giun menu and prices: how much is the Don Giun Set?

- Giun Set – galbisamgyeop 600g, ₩60,000
- Donggiun Set – galbisamgyeop 200g + pork neck 200g + skirt meat 150g, ₩58,000
There were also à la carte options like galbisamgyeop, pork neck, skirt meat, pork jowl, and chuck flap! The sides were varied too — sool-bap, stew, fried rice, even cold noodles. Did you notice the guide below on how to enjoy Giun's meat best? I liked that there were several different ways to eat it.

After sitting down and looking over the menu, I ordered the signature Donggiun Set first. It combines samgyeopsal, pork neck, and a variety of other cuts so you can enjoy them all at once — perfect for group orders. It saves you the hassle of picking individual cuts, and the price relative to what you get is excellent, so I'd strongly recommend it as the first thing to order when visiting with a group hahaha
Side dishes at Giun: wild garlic leaves and green onion kimchi

Pickles, wasabi, a special sauce, and shredded green onion were all neatly laid out to cut through the richness of the meat. It was a thoughtful, not-too-much spread that brought out the meat's flavor even more.

The wild garlic side dish and green onion kimchi... those were especially tasty

I also liked the range of sauces, and there was a detailed guide on how to eat everything right beside them

Don Giun Set review: vegetable platter and table-side grilling

And finally, the Donggiun Set arrived! Great lineup, right? I especially loved that it came with bracken fern — with all these different vegetables alongside, the meat somehow tasted even better

At Giun near Gangnam Station, ordering a set menu gets you this vegetable platter on the house — such a nice touch. The vegetables were exactly the kind that pair well with meat, so it was perfect!

A staff member handled the grilling for us, cooking everything at just the right temperature to lock in the juices and get a nice golden-brown sear — so convenient!

Taking a bite of the finished samgyeopsal, the outside was crispy while the inside burst with juice — the texture was great hahaha
Giun near Gangnam Station is a great spot for successfully handing out wedding invitations, with good people, good food, and a clean atmosphere. Thanks to the delicious Donggiun Set, I left the gathering with plenty of good energy too. If you're looking for a clean, tidy samgyeopsal spot near Gangnam for an invitation gathering or a work dinner, definitely check out Giun!
