How to get to Byuazeu from Hongik University Station, and parking

For the second gel manicure of my life!! I headed to Byuazeu in Hongdae. The shop is within a five-minute walk of Exit 9 at Hongik University Station haha — it's right across from the Mapo Lifelong Learning Center. If you're driving, the nearest lot is at the Learning Center, and if that's full, there are nearby public lots or the Hongik University lot (no separate parking fee support, apparently).

This is a place where you can get nails, pedi-planning (foot callus care), skincare, body care, and lash services (extensions, lifts) all in one spot. Full-body care under one roof is the biggest perk — it feels like an aesthetic clinic and nail salon combined.

It's also a certified Clean Pedi-Planning shop. The owner is apparently a nail expert with 17 years of experience.

Inside Byuazeu: the salon and its waiting area

You switch into indoor slippers at the shoe rack by the entrance before heading in.

I arrived a little early for my appointment and was shown to the waiting seats. There were chairs, so I could wait comfortably, which was nice.

There was also water and drinks stocked in a fridge, so I could grab something to drink while waiting haha. Plenty of drink options, and even straws were provided so you could sip comfortably.

Since Byuazeu offers skincare treatments as well as nail care, there's a separate treatment room inside with all kinds of equipment visible.

And true to a nail salon, two walls were completely covered with nail samples haha.

Nail tips in all sorts of colors and designs were stuck up on the wall. From clean and luxurious looks to cute and hip ones — it was such a wide range that it was fun just to browse.

Testing three colors on real nails before the peach-pink gel set

Here's my nails before the treatment. With the weather getting drier, my cuticles were lifting too, so they looked pretty messy.

Before starting, I picked out a color first. I wanted something clean, so I was torn between 51 and 52, but since a tip can look different once it's actually on your hand, the staff put three similar colors right onto my nails to compare. I decided on a peachy pink shade, and basic care was done first.

After basic care, my cuticles were tidied up and looking clean — care really does matter.

And here's my finished nails. They kept it clean overall with a single color, then finished with cheek accents and small parts as the point design. I wanted something understated and clean but still cute, and the result was exactly what I was hoping for.

They're sparkly and pretty, and the parts came in a variety of designs too, which made them even cuter. The staff worked fast and nailed the exact vibe I wanted.
