Gijang outlet restaurant with arugula prosciutto pizza: Bueokgan

Shopping optional, pasta and pizza mandatory — is there a Gijang Western restaurant that nails both?! My boyfriend and I went power-shopping at the Gijang Shinsegae Outlets and got hungry, so we swung by Bueokgan's outlet branch for a quick lunch~❤️ We come to Gijang about twice a month, so honestly I feel less like a visitor and more like a Gijang local these days^^

Anyway, this place is inside Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets in Gijang, so it's great that there's plenty to window-shop and plenty to eat all in one spot^_^

Where Bueokgan is in the Gijang outlet, and how busy 3pm is

Bueokgan Restaurant is on the 1st floor of Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets. We went in around 3pm on a weekend, in that gap between lunch and dinner, and it wasn't crowded at all.

Loved that it's right there on the 1st floor... the moment we arrived, shopping went out the window and we zoomed straight here. The exterior gives off a European vibe with that brick look, all fancy and polished. We'd originally planned to browse a bit first, but our stomachs started growling out of nowhere so we just came straight in.

We must have arrived around 3-4pm on the weekend, hitting exactly the gap between lunch and dinner when it's not busy — legendary timing honestly. This is why our couple rule is always to eat food after peak hours (waiting is not for us).

Bueokgan menu and prices: three dishes for two

Here's what we, the couple, ordered at Bueokgan and how much it cost!

• Seafood tomato pasta ₩19,000

Oh?! Turns out our two pastas were the same price! We were craving noodles today of all days, so we went with one noodle dish each plus a pizza. Usually we mix it up between pizza, risotto and pasta to try a bit of everything, but today it was just — this is it! We placed the order hoping this would turn out to be a Gijang pasta hotspot!

Once the order was in, we finally had time to relax and look around..hehe.

This is the seat we sat at! And this is the entrance. There's a fancy-looking sofa at the entrance too, probably where waiting customers get to sit comfortably while they wait!

There's a menu board at the entrance so you can sit and pre-order while waiting, but the tablet menu at the table has photos of the food, which felt more intuitive.

Anyway...pretty, so pretty. The lighting fixtures are even shaped like blooming petals, and wow, I suddenly wanted to copy this whole look for over my own kitchen table. I wanted to ask where they bought it. Why do I always start noticing decor the second I walk into a pretty restaurant?!

Phew..while we waited, our favorite drink, zero-sugar cola, made its appearance.

Come on out already, menu items! We ended up gulping down the soda before the food even arrived.

Is three dishes enough food for two people?

The two plates of pasta and one pizza we ordered at Bueokgan came out looking like a portion we'd wonder if two people could finish sitting there. In the end, we cleaned every plate.

Ooh..it's finally here. Today's snack (?) food lol. The portions were so generous we wondered how on earth two people were going to finish it all(?) But we're pretty sure we can (big-eater couple).

This time at Bueokgan we ordered three completely different dishes — I wanted salad but the pizza was calling louder, so we went with a pizza piled high with rocket, and for the pastas, we each picked one tomato-based and one cream-based option.

Arugula prosciutto pizza, 22,000 won

The rocket prosciutto pizza was ₩22,000, piled high with rocket and had a pretty strong cheese flavor. It came pre-sliced, so it was easy to pull apart piece by piece.

Was that jamón on top of the rocket? Something that would balance out rocket's very distinct flavor and character. The visual, with that crisp, well-baked look, made me want to devour it instantly. Might've been even better dipped in a bit of honey.

With that much rocket piled on, it definitely looks even more generous visually. Felt like eating a proper, serious pizza. The slices were cut nicely too, so we pulled each piece apart with a satisfying pop.

Wow, rocket and pizza make a pretty solid combo?^^ The pizza had a strong cheese flavor too, so it felt like eating a delicious pizza with a good dose of healthy rocket on top.

Delicious enough to finish a whole pizza solo... come to think of it, my boyfriend doesn't eat rocket, so he set his aside and I scooped up every last bit at the end. Why wouldn't anyone eat such a precious ingredient?!

Carbonara and seafood tomato pasta, 19,000 won each

Bueokgan's ₩19,000 carbonara had bacon in it, while the ₩19,000 seafood tomato pasta had shrimp and mussels. The cream sauce was on the thick side, so it was also nice dipped with the pizza.

And now for today's main stars, the two pastas from Gijang's Bueokgan:) The carbonara had bacon, the tomato one had seafood — each with a completely different feel, and that's definitely a plus. Like Baskin Robbins 31, there's fun in picking and choosing.

That thick, rich carbonara sauce was honestly great dipped with pizza too, personally — a nice combo. Can you see how thick it is?! Drooling.

My boyfriend's favorite pasta of all is carbonara, so he always orders it, and this place's sauce seems to be their specialty.

And then the tomato seafood pasta! Plump shrimp and mussels on top made a great combo with the tomato. Officially recognizing this as a Gijang Western food spot — no, a pasta-plus-pizza spot, case closed.

The art of prettily twirling pasta..! And sneaking out just the shrimp. I'm a shrimp lover so I gave my partner just one and ate the rest myself, hehe. Guess I'll need to go get actual seafood again soon.

Worth returning to for a Gijang outlet date meal?

We've decided that Bueokgan is now our go-to pasta stop whenever we come to the Gijang Shinsegae Outlets. It's in a great spot to duck into mid-shopping on a couple date.

From now on, whenever my boyfriend and I come to Gijang Shinsegae, pasta means this place, no question. Feels like I took a ton of real photos this time?! Might turn these into today's clip challenge too and rack up some points, heh..! Since Western food is what most ordinary couples like us tend to eat on dates, if you're heading to the Shinsegae Outlets to shop, definitely swing by.
