Anniversary Bisyoku Set course at a Gwangalli yakiniku spot in Busan

In short

Bisyoku Gwangan Branch is a yakiniku restaurant in Gwangalli, Suyeong, Busan, known for making snow fall inside the dining room. For a 3rd anniversary, the writer booked bar seats for two and ate the Bisyoku Set course, which ran from Korean beef yukhoe (raw beef) through beef tongue, prime sirloin and flower short rib to gyoza, Korean beef doenjang stew and yuzu sorbet. Portions at Bisyoku were generous and staff grilled the first piece while explaining how to eat it, making it a satisfying anniversary dinner.

The place my partner and I visited for our 3rd anniversary was none other than the Gwangalli favorite Bisyoku Gwangan Branch ❄️❤️ It's a top-tier yakiniku specialty restaurant and we ate so well. I visited at about 50% off through Supermembers and wrote this honestly 😆

Bisyoku Gwangan: a Gwangalli yakiniku restaurant that feels like Japan from the outside in

Bisyoku, the Gwangalli restaurant famous for its snowing dining room, looks grand and impressive even from the outside. It's a fairly large yakiniku restaurant.

The entrance genuinely feels like you've landed in Japan. Later, snow falls inside and it's so pretty with an amazing atmosphere ❄️

There are two seating types: table seats and bar (dachi) seats. Since it was just the two of us, I booked bar seats. The place was very clean and pleasant, which I loved.

While you're eating yakiniku, staff open the doors when the snow falls. There are also tables in the building across the street, so Bisyoku Gwangalli can seat quite a lot of guests.

Bisyoku menu: set courses, à la carte cuts, sides and sake

Bisyoku has a variety of set menus. There's the course-style Bisyoku Set, plus the Tanoshi/Oishi/Yasashi Sets where you can try multiple cuts. You can also order yakiniku à la carte, and there are side meal dishes like Bisyoku handmade gyoza, Korean beef nikomi, oxtail grill, and Korean beef doenjang stew. There are also drinking-food options like Korean beef nabe and Korean beef yukhoe, good for a lighter meal too.

Drinks menu with sake and other alcohol options

Besides beer, soju and highball, there's a huge range of sake. Sake is also sold by the glass, so if you're curious, I'd recommend ordering some.

Wasabi, yuzu sauce, and other condiments for the meat

Once you order, they bring out side dishes that pair well with the meat and light the charcoal for you. They also give you a range of sauces to go with the meat — wasabi, mustard sauce, yuzu sauce, garlic flakes.

Korean beef yukhoe, the first dish of the course

What comes in the Bisyoku Set course, starting with Korean beef yukhoe

First up was yukhoe (Korean beef tartare). They top it with sauce and a bit of cheese — the texture was so good and it paired beautifully with the cheese, we devoured it.

Small plate matched to the yukhoe dish

I was so impressed by how pretty the small plate was — it matched the yukhoe plate and I coveted it. My partner was moved, saying the yukhoe was so good 🤣🤣

While we were eating the yukhoe, they started prepping the yakiniku. There were so many different cuts, I got totally excited — the blog owner, thrilled at the sight of meat.

Beef tongue, prime sirloin and flower short rib: staff grill the first piece

The Bisyoku Set lets you compare small portions of many different cuts, from premium cuts like beef tongue, sirloin, shrimp meat, and flower short rib, all the way to pork belly.

At first, staff grill it for you and show you how to eat it. After that, we grilled the rest ourselves, so we could eat at our own relaxed pace.

Honestly, the staff really do grill it well. They cook the first bite and explain how to eat it. The staff were so kind, which made the experience even better.

The first bite of beef grilled over the charcoal

I dipped it in just wasabi and salt and popped it in my mouth — it melted so beautifully. The first bite alone was already ecstasy.

Sukiyaki-style beef dipped in egg yolk sauce

The flower short rib, prime sirloin, and beef tongue were all so good, they just melted in the mouth 😂 Is this actually Tokyo??

This is the bite that made my eyes widen the second I tasted it — I still think about it. This beef, served sukiyaki-style, is meant to be dipped in egg yolk sauce.

Better than the sukiyaki I had in Japan?? Every cut was tender, never chewy, and just melted in the mouth.

For the next course, they drizzled white sauce on bread and topped it with eggplant, vegetables, and premium yakiniku to make something like a sandwich. I can't believe a sandwich could taste this upscale — like a gourmet handmade burger, the sauce was insanely good and I wanted another one 🤤

Premium yakiniku being grilled by hand

After that, the staff member left and we grilled at our own pace. Honestly, since the meat itself is premium grade, it's delicious even grilled casually.

Bisyoku's gyoza is big enough that you should pace yourself

Next up was the Bisyoku gyoza. These are huge fried dumplings, packed with juice. But they're so big that eating one leaves you full. The Bisyoku Set course has huge portions not just of meat but of sides and meal dishes too, so you really need to pace yourself.

Large, juicy Bisyoku handmade gyoza

Eating the gyoza suddenly made me crave a Coke, so I ordered one. I wanted a highball, but since my partner drank too much the night before, we decided to both go easy tonight ~😆

The pork belly included in the set was really good too, but honestly it got overshadowed by how good the beef was lol

When does it snow inside Bisyoku Gwangan Branch?

If you take your time over dinner, at some point snow falls inside the restaurant ❄️ On weekdays it's 6:30 and 7:30pm; on weekends it's 1pm, and then on the hour between 6–9pm. Snow falling in early September?! I was so happy. Gwangalli Bisyoku is basically Sapporo itself.

It reminded me of Sapporo, where I went last year, and it was so romantic — I'd fully recommend it as a Gwangalli date restaurant. Great to visit for anniversaries, birthdays, or any special occasion.

The pig bell that starts each course at Bisyoku

When we'd nearly finished the beef, we pressed this adorable pig-shaped bell to signal we were ready for the meal course 🐷 This pig was so cute my partner kept coveting it 🤣 We were already super full, but hey, it's a course meal, so you have to try everything, right?

Pig-shaped bell used to call for the meal course

For the meal, you can choose from Korean beef doenjang stew, yukmomil noodles, or Korean beef nabe — we went with the doenjang stew.

We were surprised by how huge the portion of Korean beef doenjang stew was. There's a ton of meat inside. Today was definitely a serious protein-loading day~

Korean beef doenjang stew packed with meat

We ordered rice with egg soy sauce and it was insanely good 😋💕 I'd never had doenjang stew with such deep broth and so much meat packed in — even full, we kept eating enthusiastically.

Braised short rib served alongside the meal

The braised short rib that came alongside was so good too. So generous... even a grown man with a hearty appetite would probably get full! From the appetizer yukhoe through all the different yakiniku cuts to the meal course, the Bisyoku Set was perfect. But guess what — it wasn't over yet!

There's still dessert left. Dessert was yuzu sorbet, which was so fresh and sweet-tart, perfect after finishing all that beef. Even the dessert plate was pretty at Bisyoku 💙

Is Bisyoku Gwangan worth it for an anniversary dinner?

Bisyoku was such a great place to visit for an anniversary. It's better value than most omakase or umakase places, with huge portions, making it ideal for a special occasion.

I was so satisfied this time that I want to come back for our next anniversary or birthday. Next time, I'll come with a completely empty stomach and finish everything without leaving a single bite~
