Daegu barbecue restaurant lunch specials: Modak Texas Barbecue

I had such a delicious meal at Modak Texas Barbecue Palgongsan Branch before, so I was excited to return! The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely then, so this time I came back with some wonderful people. I guess a place where you had a great meal stays on your mind even after some time has passed 😊 We came for a drive around Palgongsan and a tasty lunch, and once again, it was a very satisfying meal.

Modak Texas Barbecue Palgongsan Branch is a place where you can enjoy a wide range of dishes, from Texas barbecue to steak and pasta.

Outdoor Garden Seating Surrounded by Palgongsan Nature

There is also outdoor garden seating where you can take in the nature of Palgongsan. It looks perfect for enjoying barbecue outside on a nice day, and there is a space where you can bring your dog too, so it seems like a good spot for family meals or gatherings. Since we visited for lunch, we ordered mainly from the lunch-special menu. (Lunch specials are unavailable on weekends and public holidays!)

Since there were several of us, we could order a good variety from barbecue to pasta and try a little of everything.

Texas Barbecue That Was Just as Delicious Again

The first thing I tried was, of course, the brisket! The tender meat had that unmistakable barbecue flavor, and it was delicious. The meat was moist yet clean-tasting, and the sauce made its flavor come through even more. And wrapped in a tortilla? So, so good?!! Drool 🤤

The pulled pork was lovely too, with a tender texture that pulled apart easily along the grain. The rich pork flavor and barbecue notes went together nicely, so I enjoyed this one as well.

Shrimp Pasta Between Bites of Barbecue

We also ordered shrimp cream pasta and shrimp aglio e olio alongside the barbecue! The people I went with said the shrimp pasta was richer and more delicious.

The cream pasta was mild and rich, so it paired well with the barbecue, while the aglio e olio was clean and light—great for eating between bites of meat. As expected, coming with a group makes it so fun to order lots of things and share 😋

The staff were kind again, so we could eat comfortably, and it was convenient that the restaurant also has a restroom and a powder room inside.

The interior has a Texas-inspired feel, which gives it an exotic atmosphere, and I hear that in the evening it feels even nicer with lights beneath the foothills of Palgongsan.

Next time, I want to properly try the tomahawk steak or some of the other steak dishes rather than the lunch specials.
