I was looking for somewhere to have lunch near Busan Station and ended up visiting Gyeongyangsik Dal and Sixpence Main Branch (경양식 달과6펜스 본점) this time. It's about a 3-minute walk from Exit 6 of Busan Station, so it's a great spot for a solid meal before starting your trip or catching a train.

This is a place with its own homemade gyeongyangsik (Korean-style Western food) sauce and crispy handmade pork cutlets, with a menu lineup that includes sirloin cutlet, cheese cutlet, fish cutlet, and sweet potato cheese cutlet. This time I ordered the cheese king cutlet and the sweet potato cheese cutlet — and even though I visited as part of a sponsored campaign, this ranks among the best pork cutlets I've had recently.
Where is Dal and Sixpence? 3 minutes from Busan Station Exit 6

Gyeongyangsik Dal and Sixpence Main Branch is located at 1F, 7-2 Jungang-daero 226beon-gil, Dong-gu, Busan. It's roughly a 3-minute walk from Busan Station Exit 6, so the accessibility is really great.

There are plenty of travelers around Busan Station, and lots of people looking for lunch spots at midday too — this place lets you grab a comfortable meal without having to walk far. It felt like an easy fit whether you're eating solo, on a date, or with family.
Pre-meal soup and the self-serve shichimi broth at Dal and Sixpence

At Dal and Sixpence Main Branch, a pre-meal soup arrives while you wait after ordering. I personally love that old-school soup you get at these gyeongyangsik places, so this was a total win for me.
It's soft and tasty as is, but a light sprinkle of pepper really brings out the savory depth. It's warm and appetite-whetting, perfect right before the cutlet arrives. The soup can also be ordered as an extra for ₩500, so soup lovers should keep that in mind.

The restaurant also has a self-serve broth station. Honestly, this broth was way tastier than I expected.

It's lightly dusted with shichimi, giving it more flavor depth than a typical broth. Sipping it between bites of cutlet cuts through the richness a bit and resets your palate — the pairing worked really well. It's a small detail, but when even the side extras are this good, it bumps up the whole meal's satisfaction.
Cheese King Pork Cutlet: cheese that stretches soft, not stiff

The dish I was most excited about this time was the cheese king cutlet. With a name like 'cheese king,' I was curious just how much cheese would be packed in — and when it arrived, it truly lived up to the name with a generous amount of cheese.

When you cut off a bite and lift it up, the cheese stretches soft and long — the visual alone was impressive. And it wasn't just about quantity; the savory flavor was genuinely good too.

The cheese never felt tough or stiff — it stretched smoothly and blended naturally with the cutlet, so it stayed enjoyable to the last bite. If you're a fan of cheese pork cutlets, I'd genuinely recommend this one.
Sweet Potato Cheese Cutlet: a sweet and savory pairing

The other dish I ordered was the sweet potato cheese cutlet. It's the basic cheese cutlet with sweet potato mousse added, making for a slightly sweeter version.

The distinctive sweetness of the sweet potato mousse paired better with the cheese's savoriness than I expected, and the crispy texture of the fried cutlet rounded out the combination nicely.

If you already like sweet potato cheese cutlets, this is a style that's hard to dislike. Eating both dishes together, I realized that pretty much any pork cutlet with cheese in it is going to be delicious, haha.
Handmade cutlets and house-made gyeongyangsik (Korean-Western) sauce

Dal and Sixpence is known for its house-made gyeongyangsik sauce and handmade pork cutlets. The batter was crispy while the meat inside stayed nice and moist, and the sauce wasn't too overpowering, pairing well with the cutlet.

It kept that old-school gyeongyangsik feel while still being clean overall, with solid dish execution. Even though this was a sponsored visit, I genuinely thought the whole way through the meal that I'd want to come back here again.
Why Dal and Sixpence suits the start or end of a Busan trip

Good restaurants near Busan Station often end up being the ones you stop by right at the start or the end of a trip. In that sense, Dal and Sixpence fits perfectly for lunch near Busan Station — great location, and cutlets that are easy for anyone to enjoy.

It's a solid choice to fill up before catching a train, or as your first meal after arriving in Busan. If you're looking for a restaurant near Busan Station or a place with a great cheese pork cutlet, I'd say it's worth a visit. The cheese king cutlet in particular should satisfy anyone who loves cheese. If I ever need lunch near Busan Station again, this is a place I'd go back to.
