Today I went to Suseong Susan in Sinho-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan 🐟 It specializes in mulhoe and sashimi bibimbap, so I wanted to recommend it as a clean, light lunch option for when you've got no appetite these days :) If you like sashimi bibimbap or mulhoe, this is a place worth trying at least once ✨

Where is Suseong Susan? An easy drive from Myeongji

Suseong Susan is located in Sinho-dong, Gangseo-gu! It's also a convenient spot to visit from the Myeongji area, so it's worth checking out if you're searching for sashimi bibimbap in Myeongji or Gangseo-gu, Busan. I'd eaten here before and liked it so much I came back 👍🏻

Can you bring a baby and a stroller into Suseong Susan?

The inside of Suseong Susan was bigger than I expected, and the space between tables was generous too. We visited with our baby, and there was enough room to bring the stroller in and eat comfortably 👶🏻🍼 It seems like a good spot for a family meal out.

Clean interior of Suseong Susan
Neat, tidy atmosphere inside Suseong Susan

Clean and the interior is pretty too, haha! It's not the kind of place you'd typically picture for a sashimi bibimbap or mulhoe spot — the table setting was neat and quite well put together, which I liked even more. Clean spot, big plus 💚

On this visit we ordered the flounder-fluke half-and-half sashimi bibimbap for ₩20,000, a flounder mulhoe for ₩19,000, and a cider for ₩2,000 :) It felt like a waste to just pick one dish, so we ordered both the sashimi bibimbap and the mulhoe and shared, haha.

Half-and-half flounder and fluke hoe bibimbap, 20,000 won: the sashimi comes on its own plate

A distinctive feature of Suseong Susan's sashimi bibimbap was that the sashimi isn't pre-mixed into the rice — it's served separately. That way you can check the sashimi's condition right up until you eat it, and mix in as much as you like, which I appreciated.

We ordered the flounder-fluke half-and-half, so we got to try both types of fish at once, which was satisfying 🐟 Mixing the fish and rice to my taste made for a nice texture, and it was a filling but not heavy meal. So this is a dish I'd recommend to anyone looking for sashimi bibimbap in Busan ㅠㅠ❤️

What side dishes come with the meal

The banchan (side dishes) at Suseong Susan included seaweed soup, acorn jelly, and stir-fried fish cake. Since the main dishes are all fish-centered, the sides were mild and not overpowering, which made the meal easier to eat. The sashimi bibimbap and mulhoe alone would have been plenty, but having the sides to go with them made the meal feel even more filling :)

Suseong Susan's flounder mulhoe

How was the flounder mulhoe, 19,000 won?

The other dish we ordered was flounder mulhoe! This too came with the sashimi served separately, which kept it fresh. I liked being able to add as much fish as I wanted, and paired with the cold, refreshing broth, it was a dish that really perked up the appetite. If you're visiting on a hot day, this would suit anyone looking for a mulhoe spot in Gangseo-gu, Busan 😊

One whole abalone included with every order

One more thing I liked about Suseong Susan! When you order mulhoe or sashimi bibimbap, one whole abalone comes included as standard. You get to enjoy abalone without ordering it separately, which made the whole meal feel like great value. If you love abalone, you'll be even more satisfied 🐚

My friend, who's from Busan but now lives in Seoul, ate the mulhoe and kept saying you don't get this kind of thing up in Seoul, and just kept eating it happily. Cold, fresh, so good!!! The portion was really generous too — you can add rice or add thin noodles (somyeon) and still end up with a proper filling meal. Suseong Susan's mulhoe is great too 🐟

Is Suseong Susan worth a visit? Final verdict

Overall, Suseong Susan was a great place to enjoy fresh mulhoe and sashimi bibimbap made with clean, fresh fish. Being able to choose the type of fish, and having the sashimi served separately so you can eat it your own way, was especially satisfying 🙌🏻 On top of that, one whole abalone comes included as standard, so the menu felt like solid value and left us full when we walked out.

If you're looking for sashimi bibimbap in Myeongji, sashimi bibimbap in Busan, or sashimi bibimbap in Gangseo-gu, Busan, Suseong Susan is worth a visit 🐟💕 I'd also recommend ordering both the mulhoe and the sashimi bibimbap to share — they're both delicious 😘 If you're visiting with a baby like I did, it's worth checking ahead whether strollers and baby chairs are available 👶🏻🍼
