Jeonju café gifts and pistachio financiers: Ppajak Financier Bar

A financier bar within walking distance of Jeonju Express Bus Terminal

I went to Jeonju! As a total dessert fiend, I was looking up great restaurants and cafés there when I found this place! I visited Ppajak Financier Bar (빠작 휘낭시에바), a Jeonju dessert spot.

It is about a 10-minute walk from Jeonju Express Bus Terminal.

The vivid orange sign really stood out even from far away, so I found it right away. Ppajak Financier Bar—anyone could tell this was a place that specializes in making and selling financiers.

Even the exterior was all orange tones 🧡

Inside, there were two tables for two and bar seats looking outside. The interior was rather cute and cozy. Lots of people seemed to be getting takeout.

Financier varieties and prices

Here is the menu. They also sold coffee, along with plenty of non-coffee drinks such as ades and fruit lattes. Now, shall we look at the main attraction—the financiers? There was quite a variety.

• Honey rice cake: ₩3,300
• Candied sweet potato: ₩3,500
• Chocolate vanilla, salted caramel, coffee crunch, lemon Earl Grey, blueberry cream cheese, chocolate churros, chocolate macadamia: ₩3,000
• Matcha raspberry: ₩3,300
• Chodang sweet corn, Jeonju Choco Pie, Royce nama chocolate, pistachio, Udo peanut chewy rice cake: ₩3,500

Isn't that an incredible number of varieties? I think there were almost 20 kinds. They were all between ₩3,000 and ₩3,500. The signatures among them are the honey rice cake and candied sweet potato ones. You really have to get these.

I visited around 1 p.m. on a weekday, and quite a few flavors were already sold outㅠㅠ I had to hold myself back from buying every single one,,

Return-gift packaging in orange bags

And this place does gift packaging. There was a reason the shop was so orange. The concept is Hermès-style.

The box holds 12 financiers and costs ₩30,000. Such great value, I think!

Isn't this so pretty? Hahaha, so cute. The small bag holds four financiers, and the medium bag holds eight. Perfect for gifting!!

If you gave delicious desserts in a bag this pretty, is there anyone who would not be happy? I thought they would be perfect as return gifts, and apparently they are already famous as Jeonju return-gift sets.

This bojagi (traditional wrapping cloth) package would be nice for Chuseok gifts, too, or whenever you need something more formal. If you are planning to give dessert as a gift, Ppajak Financier Bar is the place!

Besides financiers, they sell crème brûlée and quiche. Quiche is a French home-style pie. I heard they have even sold it through department-store pop-ups. Next time, I will have to try the quiche!

I filled up on financiers, and I wanted one of those bags so badly that I bought a small one, hahaha.

Pistachio, honey rice cake, and Udo peanut chewy rice cake flavors

That orange bag is adorable no matter how many times I look at it >_< I really bought several, but as soon as I came out, I started taking them out and eating them one by one, so...

This is Ppajak's signature: the honey rice cake financier. It has tteok (rice cake) on top, so it is nice and chewy, while the financier itself is crisp. The texture is so fun.

It captured that crisp-outside, chewy-inside financier texture so well, and the toppings were delicious. It was fun choosing, and it made for a perfect dessert tour. If I go to Jeonju, my willingness to revisit is 1000%.
