Jeongwang-dong pork bone stew spot, weekend lunch for two: Cheongchun
In short
Cheongchun Bulbbyeojjim & Gamjatang Jeongwang Station branch is a gamjatang (pork bone and potato stew) restaurant in Jeongwang-dong, Siheung, Gyeonggi, directly across from Jeongwang Station. On a weekend lunch, a married couple ordered the small gamjatang for two and it came packed with bones the size of a side plate plus napa cabbage, potatoes, enoki mushrooms, bean sprouts and a hand-torn dumpling noodle add-in, filling enough without ordering extra. The broth at Cheongchun was clean but spicy in the best way, good enough that the meal ended with a bottle of soju.

My husband and I ran some errands together over the weekend and were trying to figure out what to eat for lunch when I suddenly got a craving for gamjatang (pork bone and potato stew) — it had been a while. Since our errands were around Jeongwang-dong, I looked up good gamjatang restaurants in the area, and Cheongchun Bulbbyeojjim & Gamjatang Jeongwang Station branch kept coming up with lots of reviews and good ratings, so we decided to go check it out.
Where is Cheongchun Bulbbyeojjim & Gamjatang, and what are its hours?
Cheongchun Bulbbyeojjim & Gamjatang Jeongwang Station branch is located at 18 Mayu-ro 418beon-gil, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, right across from Jeongwang Station. Hours are Mon–Fri 07:00–23:55 and Sat–Sun 08:00–21:00.

This gamjatang spot in Jeongwang-dong is right across from Jeongwang Station, and the exterior stands out enough that it wasn't hard to find at all.

Looking at the food photos posted outside made me so hungry — I can't be the only one, right?

Inside the Jeongwang Station branch: atmosphere and seating
Let's head inside quickly — when we walked in there were already people eating, and tables kept turning over the whole time.

The place isn't big, but it's clearly a hot spot for both dine-in and delivery customers.
The menu: single servings, two-person sets and braised bones
Once we were seated and looked at the menu, there were so many options. Being right by the station, they had a good variety of solo-dining menus for people living alone.

There are also 2-person set menus that look like great value and perfect for trying a bit of everything. We went with the small gamjatang. There's also bone stew and various noodle add-ins, so it'd be great for anyone who wants to try a bit of everything.
After we ordered, they brought out the side dishes.

We got two kinds of kimchi along with seasoned chives and pickled radish. The seasoned chives were the real kicker.
Is the small gamjatang enough for two people?
The gamjatang came out quickly. Isn't the look of it just incredible? I was completely overwhelmed by how generous it was. The size of the bones seemed almost unreal, and the potatoes were sliced neatly, which made it look even tidier.

Once it simmers a bit, the enoki mushrooms and bean sprouts wilt down, and that's the cue to dig into the bones first, right? I pulled the meat out onto my side plate, and it was literally the size of the plate.

The meat pulled apart softly, and eating it together with the napa cabbage was so good. There were also potatoes, and the dumpling noodle sarie came included as standard, which made it convenient to pick and choose what to eat.

What does the gamjatang broth taste like? Clean but spicy
What really got me at this Jeongwang-dong gamjatang spot was the broth — it was clean yet spicy, exactly the kind I like. Honestly, I love bone soup and gamjatang, but there are quite a few places where the broth just isn't my style; this one was clean and savory, exactly my taste. And with the bean sprouts in there, it had an even more refreshing edge to it.
Even though it was technically the small size, the amount of bones was still plenty, so I thought if two people come, the small size alone would be more than filling. I was actually thinking about ordering extra sarie or other add-ins, but the portion turned out to be bigger than expected, so it was just right.

Dipping the meat in the sauce and eating it with the napa cabbage, we just kept going back for more. We ate without ever getting tired of it, and it tasted so good. In the end we ended up ordering soju too... thankfully we'd come by public transportation, so that worked out fine haha.
This gamjatang spot in Jeongwang-dong wasn't just generous with meat — it was also loaded with vegetables like napa cabbage, potatoes, enoki mushrooms and bean sprouts, so it was easy to eat alongside the meat without getting sick of it. If it had been meat alone it might have felt dry or heavy, but the other ingredients balanced it out well, and I had a satisfying bowl of gamjatang on a weekend when I really wanted something hot and spicy.
