Snow cheese kimchi fried rice at Suwon Station BBQ spot Ssosam 208
In short
Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch is a Korean pork (hanwoo-grade hanton pork) stone-grill barbecue restaurant a 2-minute walk from Exit 13 of Suwon Station in Gyeonggi. A couple ordered the medium mixed stone-grill platter with lava fondue cheese, then finished the meal with snow cheese kimchi fried rice and mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup). The julienned scallion salad and spicy rice noodle side dishes cut the richness, so the pork at Ssosam 208 never felt greasy.

Black with orange accents: inside and outside Ssosam 208 Suwon Station Branch

Ssosam 208 near Suwon Station has a clean, stylish look from the outside. It sits on a corner, and the black building with orange accents caught my eye from far away. Photos of the menu and the meat are displayed right by the entrance so you can see the signature dishes at a glance, and the full glass folding doors give an open feel — you can see right into the restaurant from outside too.

Inside, the tables are spaced generously so it never feels cramped — it's roomy and comfortable. The interior also uses black with orange accents, creating a lively vibe that's a bit different from the exterior. Every table has its own grill, and the ceiling has the ductwork you'd expect in any good BBQ place, installed neatly.

The meat menu includes pork belly, pork neck, beef tripe, jowl meat, and makchang, plus a pork belly + neck + cheongyeopsal set.

Ssosam 208's grill is a 208-degree volcano stone grill, apparently researched, developed, and made in-house by Ssosam 208.
Side dishes at Ssosam 208: scallion salad, rice noodles and 4 sauces

Julienned scallion salad, wild garlic leaves, various sauces, and rice noodles come as basic side dishes. The sauces are volcano soy sauce, garlic sesame oil sauce, wasabi garlic sauce, and salt — my top pick was the garlic sesame oil sauce, my husband's was the wasabi garlic sauce and volcano soy sauce! Every single sauce went well with the meat.

The rice noodles that come as a basic side have a subtle spicy kick in the broth, which works great as an appetizer before the meat and also cuts through any greasiness while you're eating, so it's nice to have alongside the meat too.

And the julienned scallions — so good I took a separate photo of them. The crunchy scallions with their sweet-sour-spicy seasoning went incredibly well with the meat.
Medium mixed stone-grill pork platter with lava fondue cheese
We ordered the medium mixed stone-grill platter, lava fondue cheese, snow cheese fried rice, and water naengmyeon.

Ssosam 208 only uses the highest grade Korean pork.

The meat we ordered came piled high on a big stone plate. With several different cuts served together, there's fun in picking and choosing which one to eat, and it's great to pair with the kimchi and tofu that come alongside.
On one side of the grill: cheese fondue~~ Dip a piece of grilled meat right into it and you get a whole new flavor, savory and soft with cheese richness. The fondue also has a slight spicy kick so it doesn't taste greasy at all — perfect match with the meat!!

Lettuce wraps aren't included as a basic side, but you can order them via smart order. The meat is delicious, the scallions are delicious, so the wraps are 👍👍 — a taste that speaks for itself~~~
Finishing with snow cheese kimchi fried rice and mul naengmyeon
After the meat, you can't skip the fried rice!! Kimchi fried rice + stretchy melted cheese, and dipping it into the leftover cheese fondue ㅠㅠ — a whole other flavor experience ㅜㅜㅜ Highly recommend this combo.

We had the fried rice, but the real finale was the water naengmyeon~~
