Anyang gopchang restaurant with egg custard and free heart: Ilmigop

A revisit review of Ilmigop, the gopchang (grilled beef intestines) spot in Bisan-dong! My mom came up to visit, so my daughter and I made it a three-generation gopchang outing. It's always clean, and the gopchang and side dishes are just as good every time~~

Where is Ilmigop, and what are the hours and parking like?

Ilmigop, the Bisan-dong favorite, is on the 1st floor of a commercial building across from E-Mart Anyang, on the way to Pyeongchon Xi Park. There's a parking lot behind the building, so free parking is available too~!

I was watching the Denmark episode of Welcome, First Time in Korea? and the guests went straight to Sinchon the moment they landed and ate gopchang so happily... hahaha. I'm already a gopchang lover, so seeing that made me want it so bad I booked Ilmigop right away!

Why a Friday evening reservation at Ilmigop is a must

We booked 6:30pm on a Friday through Naver Reservations, and by 7pm there was already a waitlist?!! If you're planning to visit during Friday or Saturday peak hours, please make sure to book through Naver first~!

Can you bring a child to Ilmigop?

Ilmigop has a baby chair and a spoon-fork set, so it's great to come with a child~ Honestly, we usually come at night after putting the kid to bed, so this was actually our first time bringing her along for dinner...hahaha

My mom prefers makchang, so we ordered one serving of assorted grill, one serving of makchang grill, one draft beer, egg custard for the kid, and a bowl of rice:)

Side dishes and dipping sauces at Ilmigop

Ilmigop's side dishes are green onion kimchi, pickled onions, black sesame salad, garlic sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil dip:) Last time I visited it seemed to be a garlic sauce, but yesterday it had a fresher, fruitier taste...? I think the sesame oil dip came because we ordered makchang...? It didn't seem to come last time when we only ordered the assorted grill haha. Anyway, all the sauces are delicious! Especially the soy sauce~~

Gopchang is fatty, so it can get a bit heavy after a while, but they serve a spicy sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) for free, which helps a lot👍 Yesterday's was spicier than usual, but still delicious

Can you see the ice in the draft beer glass...?hahaha This week's been a bit cooler, but if we'd ordered this in the middle of summer I'd have chugged it down for sure. My mom got thirsty as soon as the beer arrived and drank it before the gopchang even came out... then said she was full after just a bit of gopchang haha. Let's savor the beer slowly while eating the gopchang, okay~~

Egg custard, ordered for the little one

This was our first time ordering the egg custard, and it was so fluffy and delicious! When ordering you can choose to add chives and/or cheese~~

They gave us more chives, enoki mushrooms and vegetables than last time?!! I love grilled vegetables, so yay~

The free grilled heart for arriving before 7pm

They said if you arrive before 7pm you get either heart or beef brisket for free, so I chose heart—and the portion was really generous haha. But then my mom ate some and said she thought it was chicken heart and picked it by mistake... she said, 'What is chicken heart doing at a beef gopchang place,' 😅 next time I'll try the beef brisket, hehe

I actually prefer daechang over makchang—can you see the size of this daechang~ It's really nutty and delicious

They also gave us plenty of seasoned chives, which I loved>_< chives grilled in gopchang fat—no words needed~!

How did Ilmigop's gopchang, daechang and makchang taste?

The gopchang has a good amount of gop (intestinal lining) and is delicious~! Even better dipped in sauce👍 If you're looking for a gopchang restaurant in Anyang, I recommend Ilmigop in Bisan-dong

The daechang is also huge and really nutty and delicious...! I'm drooling just writing this reviewㅠㅠ

The makchang was also chewy and tasty~~ My mom said the enoki mushrooms were also delightfully chewy haha

It was a bit hectic looking after the kid, but we still cleared the gopchang, daechang, makchang, and egg custard down to the last bite>_< If you search for Ilmigop, you can find birthday and happy hour coupons on Naver too, so it's also a great value spot!
