Suwon Haenggung-dong café for Basque cheesecake: Jeongjiyoung Coffee

In short

Jeongjiyoung Coffee Roasters Hwahongmun is a café from a local Suwon coffee brand, on the first floor at 375 Suwoncheon-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. On a quiet weekday the writer went alone and ordered iced chamomile tea and Basque cheesecake, taking time in the large interior where each seating area has its own mood, plus outdoor seats. The dense Basque cheesecake and the atmosphere were both so good that a return visit is 200% certain.

Where is Jeongjiyoung Coffee Roasters Hwahongmun, and where can you park?

This Haenggung-dong café, Jeongjiyoung Coffee Roasters Hwahongmun branch, is located at 375 Suwoncheon-ro, 1st floor, in Suwon's Haenggung-dong. The sign catches your eye from far away, so it wasn't hard to find.

If you're driving, there's no separate underground or ground-level parking at the building. I'd recommend using a nearby public parking lot. It's fine on weekdays, but parking can be tough on weekends, so public transit is recommended then.

Jeongjiyoung Coffee Roasters is a local coffee brand famous as one of Suwon's best cafés. It's a care kids zone, so everyone can enjoy the space, but parents with children need to actively supervise them here.

Honestly, if you've looked into Haenggung-dong cafés in Suwon, you definitely know Jeongjiyoung Coffee. It's that famous, and another branch is well known as a magnolia-view spot. The interior is spacious and there's outdoor seating too, so you can enjoy the space however you like.

Seating at Jeongjiyoung Coffee Hwahongmun branch, each area with a different vibe

Every seating area has a different vibe. Even though I visited during a quiet weekday time slot, there were quite a lot of customers. I was relieved I didn't have to wait, haha.

They also sell various cups and Jeongjiyoung Coffee's own goods, worth checking out.

The delicious desserts I love were right there in the fridge too. You can also enjoy beer. When I visited, Basque cheesecake, fresh mango sando, fresh mango yogurt cake, and tiramisu were all available to order.

Their popular menu item is coconut coffee. The combination of sweet coconut aroma and coffee is excellent, so a lot of people order it. Basic coffee options like americano and flat white are all available too.

Iced chamomile tea on a quiet weekday morning alone

I ordered a chilled chamomile tea and a Basque cheesecake and enjoyed some long-overdue relaxation. I was going through a stressful time mentally, but this brief solo café session let me refresh, organize my to-do list, and find some peace of mind.

There's something about Haenggung-dong in Suwon that just makes you feel good, all warm and fuzzy. I'm a born-and-raised Incheon local who's never lived anywhere else, but if I had to live somewhere else, I'd want to live near Haenggung-dong.

Enjoying a solo café morning on a weekday like this... it genuinely made me so happy. Even now, editing these photos and writing this post, I want to go back again, haha.

How does the Basque cheesecake taste?

The Basque cheesecake was truly perfect. I really love the dense, rich style of Basque cheesecake that lets you taste the full flavor of the cheese, and this was exactly that.
