Prime beef platter at Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch

Eating out has gotten so expensive lately that even getting your fill of beef makes you think twice about the price — so this time I checked out a beef restaurant near Yeongtong District Office that's said to be great value!

Prime beef platter on the grill

I filled up on the prime beef platter with kkotsaeu-sal (flat iron cap), salchisal (chuck flap), and jebichuri (ox neck), 1kg — the visuals and taste were both totally satisfying. Even though I visited on an early weekend evening, there were already quite a few customers, so it's clearly a popular spot. Each cut had a distinctly different texture, so it was delicious, and they even threw in a cheese-bomb steamed egg for free — I was very happy. Let me give you the detailed review!

Where is Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch, and where do you park?

Sogogi Twist Yeongtong District Office Branch is on the first floor of Millennium Plaza, in the busy strip to the left of Yeongtong District Office. Being close to the district office, it's a good spot for a meal or a get-together nearby!

If you drive, you get 2 hours of free parking using the building's basement parking lot. Two hours is pretty generous, which I liked! If the basement lot is full, you can use the Yeongtong District Office parking lot, about a 3-minute walk away.

I went on an early weekend evening, and there were way more customers than I expected. It wasn't even full peak time yet, but tables kept filling up — clearly already a popular beef restaurant in the area!

It seems like a good place for dinner with friends, family dinners out, or group work dinners too.

Menu and prices at Sogogi Twist

Menu board listing beef and pork options

Looking at the menu, there's a wide variety of both beef and pork. The pork option is a Korean pork belly + pork neck platter, 800g for ₩74,000 or 400g for ₩38,000.

What I ordered was the item that caught my eye the most — the prime beef platter! A combo of kkotsaeu-sal, salchisal, and jebichuri, 1kg for ₩88,000 or 500g for ₩54,000. 1kg of beef for around 80,000 won is really good value for eating generously with several people, haha. There's also an MB9 wagyu ribeye + wagyu flower cut special platter. Besides that, there's a mountain of chadolbagi (thinly sliced beef brisket) and hanwoo beef tartare. If you'd rather have just one specific cut instead of a platter, individual cut orders are also possible.

How the three cuts in the 1kg prime beef platter compared

Prime beef platter 1kg arriving with smoke rising

Here's the prime beef platter, 1kg, that I ordered! It comes out on a huge plate piled high with meat, smoke billowing everywhere — the visuals alone are amazing~

The side dishes paired really well with the meat too — tasty and a great match!

The three cuts: kkotsaeu-sal, salchisal, and jebichuri

The platter is made up of three cuts total: kkotsaeu-sal, salchisal, and jebichuri. Each cut has a different fat distribution and grain, so it was fun comparing them one by one as I ate.

Kkotsaeu-sal showing its marbling

Kkotsaeu-sal (flat iron cap)

First, the kkotsaeu-sal has a moderate amount of marbling, so when grilled the juices come out moist, giving a deep, rich, savory flavor!

A piece of kkotsaeu-sal dipped in salt

When you chew it, you can feel the grain of the meat but it's not tough at all — your mouth fills right up with juices, so delicious. Even with just a light dip in salt, the meat's natural savory flavor really comes through — good stuff~

Salchisal with dense marbling
Salchisal on the grill

Salchisal (chuck flap)

And my favorite, salchisal♡ As expected, the marbling is dense, so once it hits the grill the fat melts and releases a savory aroma right away.

Grilling it just briefly on each side without overdoing it gives you a soft, moist texture that melts in your mouth — amazing.. The more you chew, the richer the savory fat flavor gets.

Jebichuri with less fat marbling

Jebichuri (ox neck)

Jebichuri has less fat than kkotsaeu-sal or salchisal, and you can taste the meat's own aroma more clearly.

Jebichuri being grilled
A chewy piece of jebichuri

The texture isn't too soft either — it's chewy with a satisfying bite, so eating jebichuri in between the fattier cuts made for a perfect combo.

Complimentary cheese-bomb steamed egg

The free cheese-bomb steamed egg

They gave us a cheese-bomb steamed egg on the house! Why is it so exciting when a steamed egg dish shows up in the middle of eating meat, lol. True to its name, there's plenty of cheese piled on top, so when you scoop it with a spoon, the egg and cheese come up together. The egg is fluffy and soft, and with the salty, savory cheese added in, it was perfect to eat a spoonful of in between bites of beef.

Is Sogogi Twist worth it for a family dinner or group meal?

A great-value beef restaurant near Yeongtong District Office~~ Being able to eat three cuts — kkotsaeu-sal, salchisal, and jebichuri — all in one platter made it even more satisfying. The salchisal in particular was soft and savory, while the jebichuri was chewy with a deep meaty aroma, so alternating between the two never got old. I get why the place was already packed on an early weekend evening~ Recommended for anyone looking for a good beef restaurant near Yeongtong District Office, whether it's family dinner or a group get-together!
