Project Lure is a hair salon at 34 World Cup-daero 316beon-gil, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, in Sangdae-dong. I got a root volume perm here! I used to bounce between salons in Doan-dong, but Project Lure's high-end interior and massage shampoo bed completely won me over — whenever I go to a Sangdae-dong, Daejeon hair salon from now on, it's going to be Project Lure.

Walking straight into the building, you reach the entrance of Project Lure. There's a simple menu board in front of the entrance so you can check treatment prices and types.

Inside Project Lure: interior and waiting area

The inside of Project Lure has a trendy, hip vibe! The waiting area is spacious too, so even if you end up waiting before your treatment, you can sit comfortably.

In the treatment area, mirrors were attached at different angles, which I really liked! Usually salon mirrors only show your front, but here I could check my 45-degree side profile right from my seat. Turn your head just a little and you can check the back too!

The consultation card even had a checkbox for the drink you wanted. I asked for iced peppermint! Such a thoughtful touch from this Sangdae-dong, Daejeon hair salon 👍 I'd rushed out without breakfast, but they gave me a Market O matcha brownie so I could fill my stomach a bit, haha.

Thin, flat hair before the perm and the consultation with designer Dowon

Before the root volume perm, my hair was sitting completely flat against my scalp. It had been a while since my last root perm, and my most recent treatment before that was a magic straight perm, which made it look even flatter. Having thin hair, I really envy people with thick hair,,

Before starting the treatment, she felt my head shape and explained in advance where the volume would go! She also mentioned that compared to the top volume, the side volume might not be as dramatic because of the weight of the hair on top. She explained everything thoroughly while touching my hair, in a way that even first-timers getting a root perm could easily understand. Designer Dowon was so, so kind, haha.

How the root volume perm was done, step by step

I've been to countless salons over the years, and plenty gave off a neat feeling, but this is the first time I've felt a luxurious, trendy vibe like at Project Lure, a Sangdae-dong, Daejeon hair salon! I worried a chic, hip salon like this might feel intimidating, but everyone was so friendly that I felt completely at ease during the treatment,,♥︎

One of the best things about Project Lure, a Sangdae-dong, Daejeon hair salon, is the massage shampoo bed! Lying down to get shampooed..? while getting a massage too...? It was a whole new world. I nearly fell asleep.

They also did a 10-minute heat treatment! With snacks and drinks provided, it felt like such a luxurious stretch of time,,♡

After finishing the shampoo at the massage bed, she curled my hair with an iron. She worked thoroughly yet quickly, which was really reassuring. I'd heard this place is a design cut and perm hotspot, and the root perm was fantastic too!!

Root volume perm results: how much volume the thin hair gained

The hair that had been completely flat before the treatment came back to life with volume, like I'd always had thick hair, haha. Once you try a root perm, you really can't quit it ㅜㅜ You should try it at Project Lure!

Comparing before and after, the difference is even more obvious, haha. Designer Dowon was the one who took care of my hair.
