Since it's such a well-known bakery, I hurried over right at opening time full of expectations, and even before the doors opened I could already feel that 'Unjeong brunch hotspot' energy. Even though I arrived right at the morning opening time, the shop was already packed with customers there to buy bread. On top of the in-store crowd, the nonstop order notification sounds and delivery riders coming and going from the morning made me think, 'wow, this is a real hotspot.'

Walking into Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch, you're greeted by soft warm lighting and a classic, antique interior. The savory bread smell mixed with the atmosphere made me feel like I'd stepped into a little European bakery.

Being transparent with customers about the quality ingredients they use instantly boosted my trust before I'd even taken a bite. True to being a baguette specialist, the signature chocolate baguette is crispy outside and moist and chewy inside, studded with chocolate that's sweet in a not-too-much, upscale kind of way. The savoriness and sweetness burst with every bite, and it pairs fantastically with an Americano.

The cream cheese fig baguette can't go wrong — the fig's popping texture and chewy sweetness meet the rich, smooth cream cheese. They don't skimp on ingredients here; every bite is packed full of flavor.
