The terrace and calm interior atmosphere

We made a reservation before visiting. The weather was lovely, and some people were enjoying brunch outside—the terrace had such a nice atmosphere too. It would be great to eat outdoors on a nice day. Andover also allows dogs on the terrace. Recommended for anyone who wants a meal somewhere atmospheric with their pup!

We were shown to a table inside, and the interior was really atmospheric too. It had a warm, calm feeling overall, making it just right for a date meal.

Andover's calm interior

There were even flowers on the table, and little touches like that really elevated the mood. The flowers somehow made it feel even more romantic, and I thought it suited a date spot so well.

Ordering was easy through the QR code on the table. We debated what to have, then ordered three dishes in total, including one of Andover's signature dishes.

Ordered pasta, risotto, and lasagna

We ordered the Fresh Basil Cold Pasta for ₩28,000, Lasagna for ₩29,000, and Mushroom Cream Risotto for ₩22,000. We chose a different kind of dish each, from pasta to risotto and lasagna.

Andover order selection

Fresh basil cold pasta

The first dish out was the Fresh Basil Cold Pasta. It is said to be Andover's signature dish, so I was curious to try it—and it looked so pretty from the start. It came with fresh basil pesto, marinated cherry tomatoes, and a ball of burrata in the center.

You do not eat it as is; just mix the whole thing together well first.

Once the burrata was evenly mixed in, the fragrant aroma of fresh basil really came through. The distinctive fresh, green basil scent was there, while the burrata added a nutty, creamy softness.

I especially loved eating the marinated cherry tomatoes with the pasta. Their tangy, slightly sweet flavor went so well with the basil pesto, making the whole dish feel bright and clean. Perhaps because it was served cold, it felt much fresher than typical pasta and really woke up the appetite.

Mushroom cream risotto

Next was the Mushroom Cream Risotto. It had mild cream sauce with oyster mushrooms and king oyster mushrooms, topped with arugula.

Since it was a cream risotto, I initially wondered if it might be a little rich, but the cream sauce was lighter and smoother than expected, which I loved!

A plate of mushroom cream risotto

When I had the mushrooms and risotto together in one bite, the mushrooms' chewy texture and flavor made the soft cream sauce even tastier. I love mushrooms, so this was one of the dishes I really enjoyed!

Risotto with mushrooms and arugula

Eating it with the arugula on top added its fragrant, slightly bitter taste, which seemed to cut through the richness of the cream sauce too.

Lasagna with baguette

Finally, the dish I had been looking forward to arrived: the lasagna. It came with salad and baguette too, so the plate was wonderfully substantial.

The lasagna arrived warm, and the cheese's nutty flavor came through beautifully. The sauce was well layered between the pasta sheets, so every bite had both the savory tomato sauce and rich cheese.

Warm lasagna

The salad included olives and cherry tomatoes, making it nice to nibble on between bites of lasagna.

The baguette was tasty on its own, but we tried placing lasagna on top of it. The crisp, simple texture of the baguette alongside the soft lasagna was quite delicious too. I recommend having it with baguette rather than eating the lasagna alone~

How was it for a Pangyo date meal?

We tried all three dishes—pasta, risotto, and lasagna—and each had its own character, so I think it is nice to order a variety! The food was great, but Andover's atmosphere was truly lovely too. With flowers on the tables and an overall calm, warm mood, it was perfect for a date meal. On a nice day, having a meal on the terrace and then looking around Baekhyeon-dong Café Street would make a great date course too.

My overall verdict

Andover was a great Baekhyeon-dong restaurant for a date, with a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. The Fresh Basil Cold Pasta especially stayed with me for its bright, fragrant flavor, and the lasagna was delicious with baguette on top too. It is somewhere I would like to return to when I want pasta or lasagna in a beautiful setting.
