Seongnam restaurant for shrimp bisque pasta: Andover
In short
Andover is a Western restaurant in Baekhyeon-dong, Seongnam, Gyeonggi. Mom and I had shrimp bisque pasta and 130g cod gratin for brunch. Verdict: a thoughtful, European-feeling pick for dates or family meals.

Brunch in Baekhyeon-dong Café Street with Mom
It had been ages since Mom and I had a little date in Baekhyeon-dong Café Street!! Since we were going out to eat anyway, I wanted something refined, healthy, and fresh, and that’s how I found this gem. It was the kind of restaurant where you can really feel the care in the food—and one I’d love to return to.
Parking and Andover’s exterior
Baekhyeon-dong Café Street seems to have a real parking shortage around lunchtime... There is a public parking lot, but it was full, so we parked in an empty spot near the restaurant insteadㅜㅜ
The black-and-white exterior makes it easy to spot from afar. Whenever I’m looking up a restaurant, I always read the description in the information tab on Naver Map at least once, you know!? This restaurant was named after Andover, the American city where the owner’s children were born. Apparently, the menu and recipes were developed after discussions with the family, with a focus not on trends but on balance and flavors you can enjoy for a long time! A family member who studied design even thought through and designed the interior personally, they said...
You can feel the attention to detail, right? Even the door handle is a stone!!

A wood-toned interior with terrace seating
It’s not just black and white—the wood tones are mixed in so nicely, making it feel even more refined. The high ceiling gives it an open feel, and there are terrace seats outside, so it has a European vibe... (For me, “European” is the highest compliment.)

We had made a reservation, and I thought it was so pretty how they marked it with a wine bottle like this.
Brunch and wine menu

After reading the reviews, these seemed to be the signature dishes!
- Meatball dishes
- Cod gratin
- Lasagna
Mom and I visited at 12:30, so we were able to order from the brunch menu. They also have wine, plus platters with cheeses and jambon to enjoy alongside it, so I think it would be lovely to visit in the evening and pair everything with wine~~
Shrimp bisque pasta topped with whole prawns
My mom is basically chef-level when it comes to making pasta, so we don’t often order it out..! But bisque pasta is hard to make at home, and we wanted to try something special, so we ordered it!

There were no fewer than three whole prawns on top...!!! Underneath were grilled garlic scapes, and there was such a generous amount of pasta, with the sauce soaked in beautifully. It felt refined but not too salty, and I could really feel how much care had gone into it!

The pickles came as big-cut cucumber pieces, and they weren’t overly sour or sweet, so they were delicious and easy to eat whole without feeling overwhelming. They had such a homemade feel!!!!
130g cod gratin and grilled vegetable brunch
The brunch portions are a little on the smaller side, but we weren’t very hungry, so we ordered the 130g portion. If there are three of you, I think you should order from the regular menu so you can enjoy it without feeling it was too little.

The grilled vegetables included bell pepper, mushrooms, carrots, garlic scapes, eggplant, and cherry tomatoes. They were so juicy, moist, and savory that I almost wanted to ask how they grilled them like that...

The cod gratin blended potatoes and cod so well: soft and savory, but not just soft—it still had a wonderful bite!! Mom was savoring it and trying to figure out, “How on earth could I make this??” Maybe she’ll be able to make it at home, haha. It was seriously delicious!!!

They also sell jambon, meatballs, and lasagna as meal kits. Sadly, we couldn’t order the meatball dish, so we bought one separately to take home!! I think Dad will like it, but he couldn’t come eat with us, so I’m going to cook it with him over the weekend!!
Final thoughts: great for family gatherings and dates

Of all the food I’ve had in Baekhyeon-dong Café Street—actually, among the things I’ve eaten recently—this felt like one of the most thoughtfully prepared meals. It was a restaurant where every bite was a pleasure, and the owner was incredibly kind too!!
The atmosphere would be perfect for a year-end family party or a get-together with friends, and the food is guaranteed to satisfy!! If you’re wondering where to go for a meeting between families, date, blind date, or anniversary, take a look at Andover~!!
