Dog-friendly brunch café in Seongnam with baby seats: Meolmeol Pangyo

Not long ago, I went to a brunch café with my second child, Huimang, my mom, and our dog Byeol. I wanted brunch with my mom, but the baby and dog had to come too! Once I faced reality, I realized there was much more to check than expected before going out for brunch, haha.

I looked into whether there were high chairs, whether parking was easy, whether a dog at a pet-friendly café had to stay in a kennel or carrier, and whether the adults could eat in a relaxed atmosphere too. Then I found Meolmeol Pangyo, a pet-friendly brunch café in Pangyo. When I called to ask, I learned that having a dog did not mean we had to use a terrace table only.

As a dog-friendly place, it had not only terrace seating but indoor tables too, and Byeol could be outside her kennel or carrier! :) Of course, high chairs were available too!

Our dog could stay comfortably with us, so it is worth considering for anyone looking for a Pangyo brunch café to visit with a baby and dog—especially families who travel with both.

Meolmeol Pangyo: location, menu, and atmosphere

Meolmeol Pangyo is a brunch café on Baekhyeon-dong Café Street. 😊

The menu is a little different: Italian at its base, with Korean interpretations added to the brunch dishes.

I wanted a brunch café that was suitable for a baby but could still make the meal feel special, and Meolmeol Pangyo fit those conditions! :)

From signature lasagna and lemon pasta to truffle baby potato fries, the lineup included dishes that are not easy to find at an ordinary brunch café! Hours and terms of use may change, so I recommend checking once more on the day you visit.

Was brunch comfortable with an eight-month-old baby?

Huimang was at the stage of eating baby food, so a high chair was essential. Meolmeol Pangyo had plenty of high chairs, so eight-month-old Huimang could properly claim her own seat. 😂

Before the adults started eating, we quickly filled the baby's tummy with the baby food we had brought! Maybe Huimang liked being out for a meal too—she sat in the high chair and obediently(?) finished a whole bowl of baby food. That put our minds much more at ease. 😍

When you eat out with a baby, one person may end up holding the baby while only the other eats in a rush. But that day, Huimang had her own seat, and my mom and I could enjoy brunch in a lovely space. 🤍 Based on my own visit, Meolmeol Pangyo was comfortable among Pangyo brunch cafés to visit with a baby because high chairs were provided.

Could our dog stay with us without a kennel?

When I visited, our dog could stay with us without being inside a kennel or dog carrier. At other places that say they are pet-friendly, I had often found that only terrace tables were allowed, or that dogs had to remain inside a carrier even indoors. Meolmeol Pangyo was different. They told me that dogs could be outside their carrier or kennel.

As soon as we came in, they prepared a separate water bowl for our dog, filled it, and brought it to our table. A staff member liked dogs too and petted Byeol affectionately. 🥹 The Naver Place listing says vaccinations are required for dogs and that you should bring a carrier, stroller, or leash, so I brought Byeol's vaccination certificate and all the other supplies—but they did not separately check the certificate!

There is a slight difference between a place that simply allows pets and a place where you actually feel comfortable visiting with one, isn't there? That day, it felt as though not only the people but the dog was welcomed as a guest too, and I really loved that.

How to park at Meolmeol Pangyo

Meolmeol Pangyo currently recommends using Baekhyeon-dong Public Parking Lot, about 180 m from the café. When you use the café, it offers one hour of free parking there.

If there is no car in the parking area immediately to the right of the café, you can park there, but please note that it is a resident-priority parking zone, so you must move your car if asked! When you are visiting with a baby and dog, the closer the parking is, the better, right? If you are coming to Meolmeol Pangyo as a Pangyo brunch café to visit with a baby, it is good to know the parking situation in advance.

Brunch dishes I tried myself

That day, we ordered truffle baby potato fries, raspberry endive salad, and white truffle pasta, with lemon cream tea and an Americano.

It was my first time ever eating endive. I had seen chefs use it on shows like Please Take Care of My Refrigerator and wondered what it tasted like. There happened to be a raspberry endive salad on the new-menu list, so I got to try it for the first time.

The endive was crisp, with a subtle bitterness lingering at the end. I expected it to be mild like lettuce, but it had a more distinct flavor than I thought~! Still, once the endive met the rosy raspberry Greek yogurt, peach, and jamón, all the flavors worked surprisingly well together!

Rather than eating each ingredient on its own, it was much more appealing when I piled peach, jamón, and yogurt onto an endive leaf and ate them together~ :) It also balanced well with the other dishes. Having the salad between the cream pasta and fries kept the meal from feeling too heavy, so I was happy with the combination!

The truffle baby potato fries were not the usual long French fries. They are made by mashing baby potatoes, frying them, and serving them with truffle cream sauce. Crisp outside and fluffy inside, they made a great side to pick at alongside the pasta. 🙏

The white truffle pasta was a cream pasta whose truffle aroma came through as soon as it arrived at the table. If you like cream sauce and truffle flavor, it is a great choice for your main. 😊

For drinks, we chose lemon cream tea and an Americano. If you want something a little different, it would be nice to order the lemon cream tea alongside your coffee.

Is it okay to bring both a baby and dog?

That day, my biggest takeaway was discovering a brunch café on Baekhyeon-dong Café Street where I could bring both a baby and dog at once! 😍 Eight-month-old Huimang ate baby food in her high chair, while Byeol spent a comfortable time sitting on the chair beside Mom rather than feeling cramped in a dog carrier. Since Huimang ate a whole bowl of baby food so well in her own seat, my mom and I could enjoy brunch with a little more ease for the first time in a while.

They even brought out a water bowl for the dog as soon as we arrived, so as someone who had brought both a baby and dog, those little thoughtful touches stayed with me even more. 💕
