Why we chose an ocean-view grilled clam restaurant in Geobukseom Oido
On a day meeting my parents, I wanted to eat grilled clams in Geobukseom Oido while looking at an open ocean view and a beautiful sunset, so I searched for a restaurant with a great view and ended up at Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch, a well-known grilled clam spot there. Since we were already out on a drive to catch the sea breeze near Seoul, eating grilled clams with an ocean view felt like the perfect way to set the mood~~⛱️ So romantic... My parents loved the atmosphere too!
Window seat at 5pm: arrive before sunset at Bada Super and skip the wait
We were guided to a window seat. The folding doors were closed that day, which was a little disappointing~ If they had been open, we could've felt the cool sea breeze while taking in the full view of the West Sea. We arrived around 5pm and got a window seat right away with no wait, but by the time we finished eating, crowds were pouring in for sunset and the place got busy,,👨👧👦
Signature dishes and what we ordered at Bada Super
Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch is known for its steamed clams in broth and grilled clams. The steamed clams supposedly use 24 carefully selected ingredients — clams, scallops, razor clams, abalone, octopus, shrimp, whole squid — simmered in a house broth built on 10 years of know-how for a deep, refreshing savory flavor. The signature grilled clams come loaded with fresh clams, scallops, razor clams, hard clams, abalone and shrimp, letting you enjoy the smoky char alongside the ocean's natural flavor. Since we'd come all the way to Oido, we wanted to make it a proper occasion and ordered the large mixed grilled clam platter (serves 4).

What comes on the three-tier large mixed grilled clam platter (81,000 won)
Our large mixed grilled clam platter arrived. Big razor clams, cheese scallops, red scallops, abalone, shrimp, and hard clams came arranged on a three-tier tray, with octopus skewers in foil on the side. The visuals alone were... incredibly flashy and impressive~😉 On top of that, cheese noodles, cheese tteokbokki (rice cakes), and vegetables came out too, so we grilled the clams and paired them with cheese and veggies — it kept things interesting and even more delicious!
How the grilled clams and nakji horong (skewered baby octopus) tasted
The grilled clams looked appetizing from the moment they started sizzling on the grill. The clam meat cooked up plump and firm, with a clean, subtly briny sea flavor that was really good. Eating them right away while hot brought out the chewy texture even more, and it was fun picking through the different varieties. Best of all, eating while looking out at the West Sea from Oido made for such a great atmosphere! Warm grilled clams while watching the ocean tasted even better, and it was a relaxed way to enjoy a meal~💙
The octopus skewers looked appetizing too, coiled up tightly, with a subtle smoky char that made them delicious. The octopus had a nice chewy texture, and the more you chewed, the more savory it got.
Seafood kalguksu (small), 26,000 won: the best way to finish
The seafood kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) had a broth that was refreshing and clean from the first sip. It was packed with various seafood, so the broth was rich with deep savory flavor. The noodles were chewy yet soft, pairing well with the broth, and eating the seafood and noodles together felt hearty but still clean. Each spoonful of the hot broth warmed you up from the inside, making it a great closing dish after the grilled clams. Eating it while looking out at the West Sea from Oido really captured the feeling of having seafood noodle soup by the sea, which made it taste even better!
The seafood ramyeon we added at the end, 7,000 won
Even after the grilled clams and seafood kalguksu, we still felt like something was missing, so we ended up ordering seafood ramyeon too! Ramyeon (instant noodles) by the sea is really a dish you can't skip💙 The bubbling ramyeon came loaded with seafood, so the broth had a rich, refreshing seafood flavor. It was spicy yet savory, and one bite brought our appetite right back.

We finished by watching the sunset together, spending a cozy time with my parents!
